Well, have to hand it to the Eagles, they looked way more alive than the burnt looking, half-asleep Dallas defense and took advantage. I kind of figured this might happen after the close game against the Giants at night, then only a walkthrough practice against the fast-paced Phili offense. Not an excuse, but as I feared, Dallas did NOT look rested or prepared. Phili played fast and furious and despite some non-calls (clearly pass interference on the Eagles a couple times not called), Cowboys can't expect to win when the defense drags their feet and the O-line that looked so good against the Giants just collapses.

Plus, Sanchez not only didn't fuck up, but played incredibly well, while Romo couldn't find his receivers and threw easily intercepted passes. Chokemo seems to have poked his head out this game.

Good job Philidelphia! Really blew us out today.

But Cowboys are better on the road anyway, and with a team that's actually awake I expect them to pull out a close win against the Eagles on Eagles' turf. I've always expected these two games to go 1-1, and given Cowboys' anti-home field advantage this season , I can't say I'm surprised by today even if it's disappointing both as a loss and as a game. Would have liked at least a close one. We'll see, but the closer it got to today, the more I felt Dallas would lose at home and win on the road vs. the Eagles. We'll see if I'm right.

We had ham instead of turkey here. The next game up I'm rooting for the birds (Seahawks) to win it, so at least I have a chance at getting 2/3 of these Thanksgiving games go my way today.

Plus, I'm ready for what is possibly a Superbowl preview this Sunday. Go Pack Go!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Might need to go out to Game X Change and get one of those old Madden copies. Won't be up-to-date, but I kinda miss playing those old football video games.

I was surprised the Eagles/Cowboys game wasn't closer. Our defense hasn't been very good, and we got burned a few times early in the game like I thought would happen the whole time, but somehow we manganed to contain the Cowboy's offense. Who da thunk it?

And don't be too hard on Romo. He gave up interceptions later in the game when they had to play more desperate to catch up. The sacks happened then too.

I was surprised how good our defense played today. For the 16th ranked pass coverage defense, and worse against the run, we managed to stop them good. Marched them right back to their own end zone and nearly had a safety. Things got scrappy after that. Almost saw a fight there when one of the Eagle's players tried to catch our own punt to put it on the 5 and got blind-sided by a Cowboy. Personal foul for that one. Almost others for fighting.

I'm very confident about the Eagles in the last part of this season. Foles might be back for the last few games too. Seems a shame to take Sanchez out. He's doing a bang up job. I almost forgot Foles was still on the team.

Anyway, happy Thanksgiving.

I'm just getting frustrated by watching my Dallas teams essentially beat themselves before getting creamed by their opponents. When I have to worry about the Mavs against the 3-11 Knicks, I'm not a happy camper. I know it's one game at a time, but they need to make their shots the way Dallas needed to defend their turf today.

Fletcher Cox looked devastating out there on your defense and slowed down Murray a few times. I think that was one of the main things that clinched it. And I blame the O-line collapsing on itself more than Romo, but I think he made some dumb passes out of frustration late to boot. I can't help but feel a bit happy for Sanchez, as he shut up everyone saying "butt fumble 2014," but I really want Romo to go somewhere this season too.

I still feel confident about the Cowboys from here on, but damn I wanted a better game. That was a huge blow to the team's pride, they just got beat up.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Now I can watch a game I don't have a dog in, though I'm rooting for the Seahawks cause I like Seattle as a city (or at least the idea of it, since I've never been there). But if they lose, I won't be that mad. Sherman and co.'s personalities can be a bit grating to be honest. I'm just also biased against the 49ers cause they were the first Cowboys loss this year. lol

I've watched a lot of eagles/cowboys games during the course of my life and I've seen the best and the worst of both teams, and felt both highs and lows.  It's some kind of epic battle like batman and the joker, depending on where u stand.  It'll keep on going for a long time, probably after me and you shuffle off this earth.

That being said, I did make sure to savor this victory after being stressed about it for most of the game.  I drank a lot of beer.  Laughing

I'm the one who needs the beer, I just watched my team get clobbered! lol Still feel better about their chances on the road, but I think I might set a record when I go for a run today, even though I ate so much, cause I got full of pissed off adrenaline watching all those mixed tackles! lol

Eagles tackle horribly too. My bro-in-law and I were screaming about it at the beginning of the game. By the half though, not much to complain about.

If any of the tackles you were yelling at were when they tried to take down Bryant, it's hard to bring that guy down. I saw Phili make tackles when it counted, where I was seeing Cowboys dive and miss way too often. Then again, who do you think I was paying more attention to? haha

Jason won't be happy - Romo is his fantasy quarterback. I didn't get any football watching in today, too busy socializing with Jason's family. His nieces are a hoot - the fifth grader is no longer allowed to walk to school because she was stopping at Tony's Donuts on the way and gettting coffee for her and her best friend and the guys at the donut shop weren't charging them. First thing the parents knew about it, they got an email from Sophie's teacher asking them to have Sophie stop bringing coffee to class. Can't make this stuff up with this kid, she's an original, that's for sure!

Romo is way better than people give him credit for (today was by no means his fault, but he'll be the focus of all the memes), but I dunno if I'd advise having him as fantasy QB when it's the run game that makes us a threat ...

And lol about the coffee.

Romo has some of the worst luck. I always feel bad for him because he is a good quarterback. Unfortunately, those bad luck moments usually happen at the worst possible moments. As for picking him, Jason had a bad number in his draft and I think Romo was the best of the choices when his turn finally rolled around. He plays in a huge fantasy league, I think there are over 20 of them.

As for Soph, I happened to be watching her when coffee was poured for dessert yesterday, and she pretty much emptied the entire contents of the sugar bowl into her cup. Ben, Jason's youngest brother, and I just watched in silence for a moment and then one of us commented "Having a little coffee with that sugar, Sophie?"

That game was so bad. Romo sailing passes, the defense getting torched, the Oline letting in everyone. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

You're not missing much if you play an old copy of Madden. I'm still playing last year's version and I will probably get this year's version after the Super Bowl.

You know I don't know if I ever played a Madden on the N64. I went Playstation during that round of games but I also stuck with 989's GameDay Franchise because the players were huge. Oh boxy shaped player goodness.

I don't remember playing Madden on N64 either. Blitz yes, Madden no. And I definitely played 989 Sports on PSX cause my brother had those.
