WWE Network Will Destroy PPTV Consumers FTW!!!

Posted on 01/11/2014 at 03:19 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I haven't watched wrestling in some time, but while I wouldn't be a mark for this service, despite the fact I'd love to see some historical matches involving wrestlers like Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, as well as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock matches from my childhood, I am rooting for them to get their 4 million subscribers based on the precedent it could set for a la carte services online, replacing overpriced cable packages like what my parents have with Time Warner cable. I think they can hit their goal. In fact, I need to tell my friend who's into current WWE about this service, in case he hadn't heard of it.

Add Google Fiber's potential to provide lower cost ISPs, and I'm excited for where the future of entertainment could go.

As for the beer, all I remember is it involved Oatmeal, and I never tried it. lol

It was what? I don't like you, sweater man. Actually, it looks like the Sun is out here today, so I can't complain too much. lol It was cold just yesterday, though, and this morning where I am.

I wish HBO would go a la carte and have GO simply be a streaming service. I'd pay for that. Well, I say I would now, who knows? And of course, cable companies aren't going to let them try that, most likely, unless they take themselves out of some premium cable packages.

When I'm at my parents' house in my pajamas, and I see that it's 4.a.m. and I'm on the couch watching an Insanity commercial, I tend to take that as a sign that I am wasting a part of my life not sleeping. lol

Robin Sparkles is funny. I don't mean to rag on Chloe, the song was fine and went well with the video; it's just not my thing. She is hot, though, I'll give you that!

And yeah, I'm pretty close to solving all of the Riddler stuff. I had quite a bit to go when I finished, but now I only need like ten, maybe?

Thanks for reminding me (again) that I need to get my ass to Gamestop and see what they have. If nothing I really want, then I can go to GameExchange in Nacogdoches, once I'm back.

Duolingo is great for basics, I think, and glad I could serve your nostalgia. I never worked at Disney, but 90s music always takes me back to good times.

I don't mind a game from this era throwing in sci-fi elements at the end. Hell, I think it would have been fun to involve Contra aliens. I mean, you're already breaking the reality barrier with the magic, talking crystals, so I say go wild!

I never did have to put up with those Genesis games without a save feature, though. That sounds brutal. SNES games I played had save features, and otherwise I've only ever played Sega games online. Speaking of which, I'm going to go to ssega.com and see if I like this, since I've always been a bit curious. Good review!

I saw Wonderful 101 at Best Buy a year or so ago. Looked good.

According to Aaron B., Duck Tales 2 for NES is a rare, high-price item.

I wasn't aware they kept making Tenchu games at least into the PSP's lifespan. I used to like playing the originals on PS1 and PS2.

Look forward to that handheld top 10.

I don't know if there's a specific game that got me into video games, other than the obvious Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt.

Awww yeah!

LaughingWhy thank you. And yes, as long as we enjoy ... or at least convince ourselves we enjoy being completionists, and not that it's merely an indicator of probleamatic obsessive compulsiveness, like I'm doing while I find all the Riddler stuff in Arkham Asylum.

I sort of hear you on the cold weather, although I don't think it's freezing here in Texas any more. Stay warm, man!

Good job on your first book of the new year! I'd set a goal for myself if I didn't expect to be drwoning in school text come Monday. So Game of Thrones is which, the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series? I wish I had a legal way to watch the show. Is it on Hulu Plus? May be time for a free trial.

I don't remember the American flag when stations were off air, just the color bars.

I remember when I visited my ex girlfriend's friends and Bill Clinton's childhood home in Arkansas, there was a lot of Razorback paraphernalia around. I would have thought that album to be pep band recordings as well. I didn't know about Jerry Coleman, but sounds like he was an awesome guy.

Which channel is S.H.I.E.L.D. on? If I get an antennae soon, I might start watching.

I'm glad Chloe Wang is 21, even though the video depicts here in high school, or I would have felt a bit weird after watching that. Ahem. lol Too bad the song sounds just like a typical American pop song would to me. Not my cup of tea, but nice video, I guess. I think Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language in the world (probably due to China's population) followed by English and Spanish. I forget where I read that, though.

I know it's parody, but I actually find the video and song for "Let's Go to the Mall" pretty catchy and entertaining. lol

I put Guacamelee on my Steam wishlist and I'd love to play Arc Squadron. Congrats on beating those! I beat Arkham Asylum this morning, but now I'm trying to get all the Riddler challenges completed. I don't have too far to go, either.

I think I might go to Gamestop today or tomorrow once I pack for those sweet DS deals. I jump on the digital stuff you mention, but even though there's a Gamestop like five minutes away, I get lazy about physically shopping. lol

I'm glad I could remind you of good times with the No Doubt talk. I never knew that opening was from the Disney ride. Also, I totally forgot about that tapping solo. Your Spanish joke reminds me I want to get to level 7 in French and Spanish in duolingo. I have 160/300 points needed for each as of earlier today.

Have a good one!

The most stressful game I have ever played, and more.

You've definitely played more than I have. I don't think I'll even be able to finish Arkham Asylum or Fez.

And that wasn't a typo on gamerevolution's part. They just know that the writer rights the wrongs. So say the throngs of those with dongs, and may you play with magic all along ... never mind, they just suck at writing.
