Birthday Reviews!

I could probably make a Mario chess set out of all the amiibo figures I have.

Speaking of which, I thought of you the other day.  Remember how I told you I wanted the Crash and N. Cortex Skylander figures?  Well I got 'em for five bucks at Five and Below!  I'm glad I waited.

Speaking of amiibo, the next two figures I want to get are becoming a pain in the butt.  The Dark Souls and Mega Man 11 amiibo are GameStop exclusives, and GameStop has been sucking extra hard for me lately.  Will this be when I stop collecting amiibo?  Can't say for sure, but it would be a shame if it were true, as I've been doing pretty well up until this point.  Sorry, just had to vent.

I've told you my story about playing Yakuza 0, right?  If I were the main character in that game, I would just go to the arcade and marry that arcade lady.  And that would be it.  Happy Ending!

I believe Galak-Z is free on any of the consoles it's available for.

I've seen that Mario chess set before.  It's pretty cool, but I'm not much of a chess player.  My brain can't plan that far ahead.

I have to question the choices on some of the pieces, though.  Why is Luigi the queen and not Princess Peach?  And coins are the pawns?

My problem with the challenge is that it relies too much on insta-death pits, spikes, and lava.  I barely got past the dragon boss, only to get stuck on a boss who moves three times as fast as you, and in order to reach him you have to double jump using lanterns that always change position.  And if you miss you hit fire.

I'm working on reviewing this game right now.  It's definitely HARD.  It might end up being too hard for me, I don't know.  It's harder than "Mega Man Hard."  More like "Ninja Gaiden Hard."  I can beat most Mega Man games, but I can't beat Ninja Gaiden.  Otherwise it's a very good game.  Almost Shovel Knight good.

Me in the Years 2005-9

Posted on 09/08/2018 at 09:52 AM | Filed Under Blogs

For me, 2005 to 2009 had a lot of ups and downs.  From 2005 and 2006, I worked at a church, and was very happy.  Then at the end of 2006, they let me go from the church because they couldn't afford to keep me, so I got a customer service phone job at a place that sells things to hospital gift shops.  I didn't like that job very much, but I stayed there for nearly nine years because the pay was decent.  It was a bit of a low for a few years after that, but in 2008 and 2009 I liked my job better there due to some coworkers that I really liked.  Shame they didn't stay there long.  Also in 2008, I started going to E3 and PAX again so that was good.  Overall I guess those years were pretty good for me.  Heck of a lot better than these last few years anyway.

I kind of wanted to get Fortune Street, but at the same time I never got into video board games, so I skipped out on it.  Plus you know how timing can get in the way of getting games sometimes.

Aw Yeah!

Considering I barely had enough time to beat Lost Sphear and probably won't beat Octopath Traveler any time soon, I will probably skip out on this game.  But I did play it at E3 and got a T-shirt from it.  I wish I had time to play RPGs like I used to (or I wish RPGs were shorter).
