Yeah, this is the last game that I remember my mom playing with me. I remember seeing The Wizard back in the day and being wicked jealous that those guys got to play it before me. My mom and I went to pick it up at Toys R' Us the day it came out. First ever day one pick-up.
Also, we don't know what the extent of the DLC is. You're hinging your argument that this is going to be an incomplete game when in reality we could get a fully fleshed out game with DLC rewards for those that spend a lot of time on it.
Also, it looks like the Vita may be moving towards tiered pricing, so if Katamari comes out for say...$20 would you still have your complaints?
But Matt, what do you call unlockable characters? Don't you have to work for those already?
To be sure, I will suffer through the show to deliver the goods so you don't have to ;)
While the awards are usually...not so great...the announcements that come out of this show are pretty impressive.
On the other side of the coin Matt, I also bought a 3DS at launch and it hasn't gotten play in months and I've mostly played DS games on it when I did play the thing. This doesn't mean that it won't get picked up ever again, but Nintendo dropped the ball with the little 3DS, especially with the launch titles.
The Vital looks to have a rather solid launch line-up (Uncharted, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, and more) which means much more to me than backwards compatibility. Not saying it doesn't matter, but I'm buying a new system for the future, not the past.
With so many games yet to play I'm hoping to get to Skyward Sword before the end of the Wii's lifespan. Still, I'm really looking forward to this one.

Angelo, it is indeed a GameStop exclusive, though you will still be able to get it from Nintendo directly. It's possible that if the game sells gangbusters that they'll sell through other retailers but for now our options are limited.
