The couple times I've tried playing NES Metal Gear, I can't get past the first few screens because the dogs get me and I can't navigate that maze of grass walls well enough.
Yeah, I just played the REVII Beginning Hour demo and kept having to stop and quit the game, because my heart was racing way too fast. Even the couple times going back to try for the good ending, I still get a little tense knowing the creepy Baker guy and his pet demon are about to show up.
I save room for about two games new every year as well. Because my birthday and Christmas happen.
I have it, just don't use it enough.

Before I bought it, I was watching an Angry Joe review speculating there might be a DLC campaign. Was kinda hoping that was true.
I only ever played the GCN version, which I thought looked muddy at times, but enjoyed.
