Tekken had brawler modes, essentially. I really liked them.
Yeah, that was really dumb of me, but it was fun. When I work oput that much, I work up an appetite too. It's a vicious cycle.
We were in the NIT one year before we went to the dance, so I'll be rooting your Aztecs if I see them. 3peat feels good though.
You're in Phili, so imagine it's worse. In Nac, the town pretty much dies when students leave.
Never did see that Lone Rager flick. I heard not good things.
That particular rap battle is Star Bomb, a collaboration between Arin/Egoraptor and Dan of Ninja Sex Party (both in Game Grumps) and is not associated with the YouTube channel Epic Rap Battle.
I'd put a "The More You Know" graphic here, but it's really more a "The more a neckbearded keyboard warrior tells you out of turn" situation ...
Having rented SFV, yeah ... it's incomplete. I do notice the bouncier boobs thing. Never really did that in 2D iterations ...
I lucked out with my rental coming a week or so after launch, so online was fine for me. To Patrick's DLC point ... I just don't trust Capcom's word when it comes to not nickel and diming the consumer. For my money (literally), it's too early for me to tell if they mean what they've said, especially given their history.
I share Patrick's frustration with online fighting. Even with beginner matchmaking, every fighter I've ever played has online players that can combo out the ass. I've never rage quit though, but Quitality sounds like an interesting system. Still need to play MKX myself.
I never played SFIV outside of PlayStation Now, but it felt slow to me. So on that level, I think SFV has improved mechanics. I would have wanted a more in-depth tutorial re: the mechanics in SFV, but then GGXrd has spoiled me for all time in that regard. I never did have to deal with the Dualshock 3 though. I'm still curious what makes everyone think those controllers are SO shitty when they look basically like other PlayStation controllers.
Ken's moveset worked so much better for me as a player than Ryu's did. I was surprised theyy were not direct mirrors. Lol at SF 2010. Only know of it from the AVGN episode. Looked interesting.
I don't HATE only 16 characters, but it does seem like a small roster now. Especially with my playing Injustice now, it's a dwarf cast in comparison. Apparently, I really need to play MKX ...
Fuck you Patrick, Tekken and Smash Bros. extra modes made those games exceptional to me! And when I was growing up, I played SFII Turbo story mode the most when not 2player. Julian and I have similar fighting game experiences I think. I like to switch up characters. This "maining" bullshit can make fighters feel like a chore to me sometimes. It's cool as an option for more serious players, but for casual guys like me I'm not trying to win tournaments, I just want to play a fun game.
Where I will say I disagree is I've seen worse loading times. I agree they were not good, but it wasn't as bad for me as Julian maybe. It was noticeable online though.
I was glad I wasn't stuck with playing only one character online like I initially though, but I agree it was weird. Also, Patrick, I apologize for the language earlier. It was unprofessional. I should have simply said everything you said was wrong without swearing. I am sorry.
I'll be honest, I never liked battle lounges in any game; just match me up with someone or I'll get a friend on. Maybe the emptiness of lobbies in ArcSystem games I play soured me on the concept.
I do agree with small roster balance and I like the characters, but damn it's a small roster for $60. Killer Instinct was the reason I was leaning toward Xbox One at launch. God, I hate exclusivity.
I like how, in the same podcast, Julian mentions $1 games beuing superfluous and getting less and paying more on AAA titles, and being correct on both counts. I disagree about III and IV though. I loved III and thought IV was slow. Huh.
I really like the V characters as well and I loved the changes to Ken. Whose side am I on here?! Laura ... there are some boobs regardless of glitches I don't remember from II or III. lol
I feel like you guys glossed over my biggest issues, which are the lack of single player modes. The story mode doesn't count it's so barren, the arcade mode isn't there. I can see what you're saying about SF though Julian. I think that's a cultural change in fighting games overall though, mostly because of online and tournaments. Yeah, there were rulers of the arcade cabinets back when, but most of us playing were casual. Playing online, I feel that's reversed. In fact, didn't they release SFV early because of EVO? As a casual fan, I feel pushed out of the franchise, so I'm curious how they plan on drawing me/us in?
I went into training mode ... I learned very little. Hey JD, tell them to put KI on PS4 and I will INSTANTLY play it. I really wanted SFV to tell me when certain moves were appropriate cause I had no idea.
MadCatz? Errr ... there's another brand I have misgivings about. See, $30 is a lot different than $60, so now I see why Patrick's so accepting. I am now more accepting of Patrick as a result.
Julian's argument crux is how I feel about people who tell me to look online for how to do things in Dark Souls/Bloodborne.
Oh I've seen that Atari movie on Netflix a while ago. It's the one revolving around the NM E.T. dig, right? But also goes over the actual reasons the industry crashed before Nintendo.
Great show, sorry for the text walls.
One of my friends on FB saw it yesterday, but he's in Austin so I'm sure there are tons of theater options. I bet they are still playing it near you ion SD.
I still need to finish Portal. I own 1 and 2 on Steam.
Reminds me that Incredibles 2 movie is coming oyt
My friend Jordan/his friend didn't care for it either, cause they got tired of the protest from the female character when they had her do shady things with them. I thought as a revenge movie as well as a political commentary, it worked because of the direction that really let the acting breathe. Lots of tense scenes.
