Well, college definitely isn't the only path to success, but I think it's better they decide they hate it now than spend four years of misery; especially since in what I teach their degree needs to be backed up by their portfolio to really mean something.
I kinda feel bad for the one (of four) sections of this class I'm not teaching. I take major points off for not handing in a project on time. He gives zeroes out for that or for not saving correctly.

I was meaning to tell you I have a non-traditional student who was in NJ when Metallica, Anthrax etc. were big and he met and hung out with a lot of the thrash guys from that time. He has pictures and I choose to believe him. Cool guy, easily pulls As on my tests (not due to preference, they are Scantron tests).
I wouldn't go that far. I just think some of these kids are used to being taught towards a test or turning things in late and unfortunately I have to be the guy to go "nope, welcome to college. You will be completely fucked in the workforce if I don't start telling you no now."

Yeah, I think that's what sets it apart from games like Naruto, where the play style looks to be similar, but it's not just a barren arena. I definitely prefer fighting stages with environmental effects.
I actually did like the demo for Life is Strange and I still want to play some MGS goodness, so thanks for the heads up. I'll check my splurge fund.
