I like the Wii U a lot, but it definitely needs more games on it than PS3/360 retreads.
That 8-bit version of Pac-Man is pretty sweet, all right. It's hard to imagine that Atari went from a mess like the 2600 Pac-Man to a great home version like that. The 5200 also had the only really decent home version of Donkey Kong made in the 1980s, and yes, that includes the 75% complete NES version.
Valkyria Chronicles. That game was the reason I got a PS3.
Final Fantasy VI was my entry point to the FF series (as FFIII on SNES). I loved it. FFVII is my favorite video game of all time, though.
In recent years, I've begun to appreciate FFV more and more. A lot of Americans dismiss it because of its weak narrative structure and the fact that we never got to play it until long after the SNES was dead and buried, but it really is an incredible game with memorable characters and a good battle system. The music is among the most memorable in the series even if it lacts the dramatic flair of either FF4 or FF6.
The Japanese in particular loved it. I think FF5 is probably the most-loved of the 16-bit FF games in Japan.

VJ was one of my favorite titles of last generation. I generally enjoy Clover/Platinum works very much. Okami is one of my favorite games of all time, and Bayonetta ranks near the top of my favorites of the current gen.
Awesome. As someone who was with the Zelda series from its infancy, I gotta say I LOVE that Hyrule Historia! I got mine as a V-Day gift.
I recently got the 400-page hardbound Ni no Kuni strategy guide. It was a free gift from Namco to make up for them screwing up by selling our Wizard's Edition pre-orders to those scalpers in Canada.
Awesome story, Tami. I used to love arcade games when I was young, and I had a PC at a young age, although I was more into Ultima than Wizardry.
Although SoM was good, I much preferred its Japan-only sequel, Seiken Densetsu 3, which improved on SoM in every way.
