a buddy and I tore though this game back in the day. We found a weapon combo that worked well together and stuck through it for most of the game. Not sure how far I got by myself.

Journey, music, and death

Tami,

Great blog, beatiful story about the passing of your friend. Surrounded by music and friends is definitely the way I'd want to go.

As for Journey, I finally got a PS3 not to long ago, Journey is one of the first games I picked up because I heard so much about it. Its a perfect example of a game greater than the sum of its parts, the simple but genius way the multiplayer is integrated makes it something that needs to be experienced.

Please read this article, I think you'll agree this pretty much sums it up.

FInally got to listen to this one, so excited to hear what you guys thought of it. I loved this game despite the repititious gameplay. The crazy art style and heady themes had me from start to finish.

cool cool cool. Thanks for supporting RETRO, I hope it gets off the ground.

I LOVED Breaking Bad, BUT, one thing I wish they did is have Walter White see exactly what meth does to people, how it transforms them into monsters. I can understand how someone effected by it would not enjoy the show.

I'm on the fence with SHEILD. I love Coulson, and just when I think I'm not going to like an episode something grabs me. I think some of the characters are too pretty to be the people they are. The hacker chick is a drop dead gorgeous model... that lives in a van? Nah. I can't wait to see *spoiler* what was done to Coulson. He had abilities for sure, he did that crazy back bend when the van door went flying at him, and that girl with the bionic eye saw something.

And Terminator 2 Pinball Arcade will happen in my house.

When I worked at EB Games this family came in and a kid picked up Starcraft and asked if he could get it. The mom yanked it from the kids hands and said "WHAT IS THIS? Some kind of DEVIL...DEVIL-CHILD GAME???" and threw it back in the bin. So yeah, I believe it.

The First Game I Ever Played...

Posted on 09/23/2013 at 09:43 PM | Filed Under Blogs

First game I ever played was a Pong clone in my parents bedroom when I was just a toddler. This was probably 1977-78. I remember trying it but not being able to do much with it. I got frustrated and just watched my Dad play. Pops liked gadgets and each generation that went by we got a new game system. I played plenty of Odyssey 2, Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Intellivision, Colecovision, Apple, Commodore 64, and early 16 Bit games before I picked up the first Sonic. But when I did, I couldn't stop playing. I borrowed it off a friend and I really wanted to beat it before I returned it. That day I had one of those gaming zen moments when you can do no wrong. I breezed through the game will all the Emeralds, something I don't have the time or patience for now. Sonic was an absolutely killer game at the time, it made the Genesis/Mega Drive look like a whole new console. One touch I always loved is how the end level jingle would blend into the "cha cha ching!" sound effect at the end.
