Thanks man! That part made me giggle when I listed to it again. Yeah the campaign can get a bit snoozy, but I gotta give some of those sequences some credit, especially in space. I just wanted explore around because it looked so cool, but that gets you killed, so back to SHOOT-ADVANCE-SHOOT-ADVANCE, another missed opportunity, they should have let you just admire your surroundings more. So no Pokemon, eh? Noted.
I have an over pouring of nostalgia for this game and I think the 3D-ified version is incredible. I played the huge motorized arcade version back in the day and also the Saturn import version is incredible. The Saturn could push all those 2D scaling sprites no problem, but I bet the PSX would have quite a struggle with it. I can see why someone without the nostalgia may not like it, but I think it rocks.
I remember when this came out, I rented it. I saw it in magazines first. It was the some of the best graphics on the NES at it release.
I'm interested to see the scene now, curious to see if it insinuates what Kat says it does. If it does, how she feels about it is how she feels, and like you said, thats fine. Although, If it does give an overtly sexual voilence vibe to it, I think it doesnt belong in Castlevania. Not to say it doesn't belong in video games, or vampire video games for that matter, just not Castlevania. I like my Castlevania heavy on the gothic, medium on the gore, and extra light on the sex.

Funny, you are just the opposite with some Genesis games as me, I love the first Sonic and first Golden Axe the best. Perhaps nostalgia is more the reason. I also played a couple of the 3D Sega classics. I got Shinobi and Space Harrier. The 3D does look really good on those games. I think they are working on a 3D effect for people without stereoscopic vision. It would need a head tracker and adjust the point of view depending on where you head is, letting you peer behind object by moving your head, not quite the same thing, but a cool effect none the less.
Finally got to catch up. Great podcast. I've played so many Castlevanias but finished very few. My fault! I think based on your take on LoS I'm going to skip it. I know I wouldn't hate it, but there are so many more games I know I will love that I'll play instead. Very interestd to hear about Asura's Wrath
dont consider forum or comment trolls as typical gamers. These people are just trying to get a reaction out of the staff and other users. For the past few years I attended PAX East and all I ever see is the biggest group of the most outstanding people. Up to 70,000 people in one place celebrating the hobby they love. Its amazing to see. Those people are real gamers, not the punks commenting on IGN. Trust me, NOBODY wants to be associated with those people, not even the people dong the commenting.
