F1 2011 Racing Onto Vita in Time for Launch

The Vita's Launch library keeps on growing.

We’re getting closer and closer to the PlayStation Vita’s North American release this February and with that comes the announcement of launch titles.  We already know that Touch My Katamari, Ridge Racer and Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen will be available day one, and now we can add F1 2011 to that growing list as well.

Transferring PSP UMD Games to Vita Carries a Fee

Not all games will be available, either.

The PlayStation Vita, when released, will sell its games on small memory card style sticks in retail. You will also be able to download them all online. Gamers will be able to play original PSP games on the handheld but with no UMD slot; an application will be required.

The Future of Silent Hill Revealed

Konami has a three month block of terror planned.

Things have been a little slow in the Silent Hill department for a while now. It’s been two years since Silent Hill: Shattered Memories came out for the Wii, and that was more of a remake of the first game than an entirely new entry in the series. News on the future of the franchise had slowed to a trickle after the delay of Silent Hill: Downpour. Well, consider this a flood of information, as 2012 will see not one, but three releases bearing the Silent Hill name.

Final Fantasy XIV Coming to Xbox 360 and PS Vita?

Version 2.0 may have a home beyond the PC and PS3.

Final Fantasy XIV has had a rough time of it. The PC version of the game was released over a year ago and didn’t review well at all. It currently has a Metacritic of 49, which is extremely low for a mainline Final Fantasy release. While the game has its fans, supporters, and apologists, the game was considered enough of a failure by Square Enix to have the development team fired, the PS3 version delayed indefinitely, and the monthly fees waived. SE didn’t stop there, however; the game is getting a massive overhaul, with “Final Fantasy XIV 2.0” expected to be released by 2013. Today, some more news has come to light on this drastic course of action.

Namco Bandai Announces Trio of Vita Launch Titles

Looks like you could be rolling things into other things on day one.

Now that we know when the Vita is hitting the states it’s time to start figuring out what’s going to be available at launch.  Leading the way is Namco Bandai who announced today that three of their main franchises will be available day one.

Vita Dated for North America

Christmas is coming a little late for the handheld gamer.

After months of speculation we can finally put a solid date to the upcoming release of Sony’s newest portable system.  Sony has made official a February 22 release date for the Vita in North America and Europe.

ModNation Racers for Vita Named

Fans named the title after a vote on the PlayStation blog.

In August, Sony opened a contest to allow fans to vote for the name of the upcoming ModNation Racers title for the PlayStation Vita. Now that the contest hosted on the PlayStation Blog has ended, Sony has revealed the winning name. The ModNation Racers game for the upcoming Sony handheld will be titled, ModNation Racers: Road Trip.

Sony Reveals Vita Launch Titles

In an effort to start off strong, gamers in Japan will have 26 choices.

Last night, Sony revealed during their TGS 2011 press conference that the Vita will launch in Japan with a total of 26 titles on December 17. The launch will feature some major titles, like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Disgaea 3, Katamari no Biita, and of course, Ridge Racer. Click through for the full list.

Final Fantasy X Headed to the PS3, PS Vita

The former PS2 game now has an HD version in development.

During Sony's Pre-TGS press conference, Square Enix revealed the development of an HD version of Final Fantasy X for the game's tenth anniversary. The game, announced on stage by producer Shinji Hashimoto, is in the early stages of development, so Square Enix did not release any assets to coincide with this announcement.
