PS Accessorizing

To get ready to download Broken Age Complete on Vita Friday, I went out and looked for a bigger memory card. Doesn't it figure that they just raised the prices on those things? The 32 GB card, once at around $60, is now near $80. That's just outrageous pricing for a memory card! I left Best Buy in a huff, but not before picking up a PSN Card and a protective case for my Vita. I broke a PSP once because I didn't have case. Not again. Here's a picture of all the stuff I got by the end of the day.

Then I went over to Gamestop and saw they had the Vita memory cards at the old prices. No go though. The price hike was so new, they hadn't changed the stickers yet. So I settled for a 16 GB preowned card for around $30. It should be enough for a little while anyway. I also picked up a component cable kit that fits all the last gen systems. I needed one for my PS3 but it's nice that I can use it for my Wii too. Then I saw another Code Name: STEAM demo download card with a different character on it. I grabbed that for free. Now I have two of them.

So now it's late at night and I'm going to try and figure out this memory card transfer stuff for VIta. Wish me luck.

And oh yeah, I got a full Mii crew on my 3DS by going to Best Buy, the Mall, and later, Mickey Dee. I'll be playing the games right after this Vita nonsense.

I have Broken Age for PC.  I've been meaning to play it but there's always some distraction.  I'm better suited for handheld systems, so maybe I'll try it on there.

I almost played it on PC. I signed up for Steam and everything, but never got it. I just don't want to play games on my PC, I guess. I'm so glad it came to one of the gaming systems. I'm pretty sure you can play it on PS4 as well.

The 32 GB Vita card was launched at 100 and then dropped to 80 where it has remained the whole time here in Canada. I've never seen anyone selling it for less and yes it is outrageous. You would think that Sony would have learned their lesson on gouging people by forcing them to use proprietary memory cards. There's a Walmart by me that still has a 16 GB Pro Duo at 100 bucks. It's been there for years.

I was willing to pay $60 for a 32 GB card for Vita, but $80 is rediculous. $100 is highway robbery.

You're a good man.  I would have gotten them to sell you the memory card at the price on the sticker.  They would have had to do it for both customer service and legal reasons.  Sucks for them, but they should have changed the price before opening.

I didn't think of that. I viewed the bar code scan as the final word. Something to keep in mind for sure next time.

Hopefully the memory card information transfer was just as easy as the 3DS'.

The Vita transfer was super easy. I just downloaded the Content Manager Assistant on my PC and then hooked up my Vita with a USB. It recognized it right away and I copied the games, exchanged cards, copied them back. Done. It was fast to move the files to the PC but bringing them back took like a half hour. I've heard the 3DS transfer is just as easy with a computer, but if you do it 3DS to New 3DS it takes a long long long time.

I'm running with a 16GB card and it is still half full. If you don't like to carry a bunch of digital Vita games on the card, 16 is more than enough. 32 and I think the 64 GB are available on Amazon for around the same price as the 32's you saw.

Having a solid case is always good. I've dropped my Vita a couple of times and thank you Vita case for keeping it safe.

This licensed case is pretty awesome. It's really durable and holds four games plus something else I can't identify. A Sim card maybe? Why would you need a holder for that?

Say what they will about gamestop, their cables for systems are pretty sweet. I still plan to buy the s-video ones they have so I can have my SNES and N64 run off them.

I still have the one I got when Xbox 360 came out. It has 360, Xbox, PS2 and GC connectors all in one cable. I needed one just for PS3 but having Wii there too is a help.
