Earth Defense Force 4.1 Out in November!

This is an enhanced version of EDF 2025 with new levels, vehicles, giant mechs, and various tweaks and fixes to the gameplay mechanics, all running at 1080 P, 60 FPS for the PS4. You'll see that it seems exactly like EDF 2025 except that the Wingdiver recovers quickly after getting hit while flying (dropping to the ground like a stone was an annoying thing the original game), the caves are completely dark (there's a spider mech in there too), and at the end, A GIANT MECH FIGHTING A HUGE BUILDING SIZE KAIJU! Yeah man! Another reason for me to pick up a PS4, two of them so I can play co-op, the best way to play this game.

Two PS4s, though, is quite an expense for one or even several games. I may wait, but I'm at least going to preorder this game for sure.

Why couldn't you just play co-op online with someone? Cheaper.

I wish. He's basically retired now (early because of disability) and so it's unlikely. I'm wondering when the new consoles will get to around $200. Probably be years from now.

My memory of split-screen was trying to play Halo CE and constantly telling him to stop looking at my half of the screen. Man, even with seperate screens he's still looking. Darn cheater! Ha!

no split screen co-op? that sucks. I've never played one of these before. I thought it was a new game though not an enhanced version.

It might have split/screen but I'm so used to Mark and I having our own screens for either LAN or online co-op, I don't want to go back.

It's been described as an expansion to EDF 2025. I did recognize the levels in the gameplay video but there's supposed to be new ones.

Good thing you posted this, I was ready to buy the 360 version of 2025 last week because it was cheap. I'll probably pick this version up when it goes on sale.
