Finished Lost. Back to Borderlands

As I thought, I finished up the last two achievements in Lost: Via Domus today in a couple hours. I won the challenge because Mark finished his about an hour later. Then I went back to Borderlands: The Presequel to attempt some other achievemetns.

The trickiest achievement in Lost: Via Domus was in Episode Four inside the Swan Bunker. There are two photographs you have to take of maps attached to blast doors. The trick is, finding both of them while disabling the self destruct system. One is easily found once you enter the computer room and the doors close on you. The other is in the living quarters. To get back in there you have to open just one of the three blast doors while the countdown is on and turn on two blacklights to see the map. If you open all the blast doors and exit, the episode ends and you have to do the whole episode over again. The description on Xboxachievements.com was not clear about this at all. I basically had to figure it all out by some trial and error, which means playing the whole episode a few times. It's one of the longer episodes and has three puzzles to solve before you get to that last segment. It's really nice to finish a game to 100 percent. These days, with all these open world and MMO style games, you wonder if you will ever finish them.

And speaking of nearly endless games, I went back into Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and played my Gunslinger character up from level 18 to 21. I was trying to get the ground smash three frozen enemies achievement, and got close several times but didn't get it. I upgraded my equipment until almost all of it had the ability to freeze enemies: shield, grenade mod, shotgun, laser gun, and O2 kit all had it. I was freezing punks left and right, but couldn't jump and slam down on more than two at a time. Oh well, maybe next time. I really didn't get tired of just replaying all the missions in this game the rest of the day. So much fun.

I could never get into Borderlands.  I played one with my brother but I was so burned out on FPS at the time and I just couldn't handle it.

Borderlands does threaten to burn me out at times especially when I can't figure out all those weapons stats. Soooo many stats. What's better than what? Ahhhh!

Platinum trophies and 100% chievos do feel good. I have completed a few games as much as possible, but until these generations of consoles I never had it show up on an online profile. I love showing people the size of my ePeen.

I was just thinking about my gamer score on Xbox Live. I sometimes can't decide if a bigger number makes me feel great or just more of a sad nerd. . . "ePeen". snicker snicker.

Haha I know how you feel. Kinda wish there were cash prizes for Platinum trophies so I didn't have to question my life choices.

Cash doesn't always bring acceptance. Woody Allen couldn't impress his parents with his astonishing success in Hollywood. They just wanted him to be a grocer.

Where'd you read that?

I think it was in an interview or something. I forget. It stuck in my mind though. Now I think of it, it does sound a bit like a joke Woody would make, so maybe it's just another joke, but I think I heard it in some documentary that made me think it was the real thing though. I'll have to try and find the source.
