I bought Battlefront for my brother for xmas. I think he'll ultimately be disappointed in it, but it will be a nice pre-xmas game before he gets Fallout xmas day.

Today, it was yet more Skylanders purchases and long hours of blasting bugs and robots in EDF: Insect Armageddon. I can't seem to wrap this game up. It just keeps me there for yet more attempts to beat it on the harder difficulties.
So the Skylanders stuff. I looked up the Xbox 360 starter kits for the first two games, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders: Giants, and saw they were cheap but also hard to find in the wild. So I just bought the games themselves for $5 each and a Skylanders: Giants portal of power for $3. Picture below:
Next I'll write down what figures came with the starter packs and go get them maybe next week, or whenever Gamestop runs another sale. I now have access to all the Skylanders games for when I get to them on my playlist.
Then I went to Mark's place and booted up my Xbox One and had an update that took a half hour. Then I checked the sales and downloaded The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing because it looks like a neat Diablo clone, and it was free. Then I watched my friends' video clips of new games like Star Wars Battlefront, Fallout 4, and Halo 5. Boy, does SW: Battlefront have amazing graphics or what!
Then I closed it down and booted up Xbox 360 and checked sales just like Xbox One. I saw Painkiller: Hell and Damnation for $6 and almost bit, but I have to take it easy right now. All these new consoles and the Skylanders stuff is pushing my budget for entertainment a little over the edge. Plus it's exactly the same game as the original Painkiller, which I've played on PC and Xbox.
Finally I got back to Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. I started on Chapter 3, mission 4, the second to last mission in the game, on Hard difficulty, online and open to the public. No one dropped in, so the bots and I died half way through the level again. I thought to give the randoms out there more time to drop by, so I restarted all of Chapter 3. Two randoms dropped in after a little bit and we did really well until mission 4, when they both dropped out. I was left to die with the bots once again. Mark was going to join, but I decided it would be better if we were the same rank - he was four and I was six. So I restarted my Tactical Armor at rank 2 and we played the whole game through on Normal difficulty, and then several levels on Hard, before the night was over. I leveled to rank 4 and he got into rank 5. I figure I'll play like that with him until his Armor is rank 6, and then I'll switch back to my Battle Armor and we'll make a run at beating the game on Hard difficulty. If a random shows up, all the better, but I think two rank 6 Armors can beat the game on Hard, no problem.
Tomorrow is going to be a short day of gaming I think. I have my neice's musical to go to and Mark and I are going to BestBuy to get him a sound bar for his TV, which sucks for sound when watching from cable - it's just fine with the game systems though - strange. We'll probably get in three of fours hours worth though. Over and out.
