Skylanders Frenzy: Day Five

The fourth day was included in my last blog, so this is the fifth day I've gone to Gamestop to partake in their buy-2-get-3-free sale on toys-to-life figures (see picture below)

I've changed my to-buy list a bit. I was trying to think of a way to narrow, or even bring to a halt, my acquiring more Skylanders figures, so I decided to see what figures were actually needed for getting complete achievements in each game. Turns out, you can get a perfect score in these games with nothing but the starter kit figures (unsure about SuperChargers 'cause there isn't enough info yet). However, a few figures were mentioned on xboxachievements.com that make the job a bit easier. Perfect, I said to myself, a nice short list of five figures.

So today I got the first three: Whirlwind, Terrafin, and Chop Chop; plus some others just for fun. The other two: Magna Charge and Smolderdash, are at a different Gamestop than my home one. I'll get those tomorrow.

It's dawned on me that the two-packs that Gamestop puts together creates a situation where you might get double the characters for about the same price. The two-packs count as one SKU, so you could get five double packs and get 3 of them free. Now you have 10 figures instead of 5. Since I'm only looking for just a few specific characters now, the rest can be just ones I like. I saw that Winterfest Lob-Star and couldn't resist. I have two Christmas themed Skylanders now. There are Halloween themed ones too. Maybe I make it a thing to play Skylanders on Holidays. It'll replace my World of Keflings that I've been playing at Halloween and Xmas since 2010.

Yeah some of the names are great, like Pop Fizz.

The variants of that are fun too. I got a Super Gulp Pop Fizz.

All the names describe what they are and what they do. I think next time I make a online name for myself, I'm going to use the Skylanders method.

SKU, now there's a term I hear a lot at work. I'm sure the Home Depot employees get tired of us yelling SKU CHECK at the top of our lungs when an item is not labeled.

Has McDonald's done Skylanders toys? They have to have.

Ah, not actual usable figures for the game. Darn.

Dang that is a good way to not try and buy every figure, save some cash, and position yourself on getting al the achievements, good stuff! Also you can't go wrong when you can get double the amount of figures for the same price. Are these figures smaller than "normal" size figures or part of those 3 figure sets?

They're all normal size. Some are a little bigger like the Lob-Star. None are the sidekicks, which are smaller. I haven't looked into them yet.
