Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed

I finally finished with this PSP game. It's 20 arcade games and they're all pretty good. Here's the list:

1941: Counter Attack
Avengers
Bionic Commando
Black Tiger
Captain Commando
Final Fight
Forgotten Worlds
Last Duel
Legendary Wings
Magic Sword
Mega Twins
Quiz & Dragons
Section Z
Side Arms: Hyper Dyne
The Speed Rumbler
Street Fighter
Strider
Three Wonders
Varth

The PSP gives you lots of screen options for each game. On all the vertically scrolling games, I set the view vertically and played the PSP sideways. Those games look great that way with no stretching or distortions.

There are a lot of brawlers here too like Avengers and Magic Sword that I liked.

Also action platformers like Mega Twins which was a pleasant surprise. Check it out.

Another action platformer was Three Wonders. Well, the first of this three-in-one is an action platformer. You can choose from Action, Puzzle, or a Shooter game. I liked the action game best. It has great graphics that remind me of a NeoGeo game. Check it out:

You can play two player co-op on the original arcade machine. I'd like to do that someday.

Quiz & Dragons is an old favorite of mine. It's like a board game with dice in a fantasy setting where your battles are answering multiple choice trivia questions.

And that's Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed. Not sure why it's called remixed except that it's a slightly different mix of games from the console versions. I have those too and will be getting to those soon, again, for the last time. Look out for that.

I loved those collections.  There was also a Capcom Classics Collection: Reloaded for PSP.  I wish companies would still release collections like this.  Other than Rare Replay (for a system I don't own), there's not much out there.  I would kill for collections from Square Enix, Sega, Dreamcast era Capcom, Konami, PSone era Namco, and Nintendo.  But I guess the companies make more money selling us upscaled ports individually, or in Konami's case, none at all.

I just played Reloaded. King of Dragons and Knights of the Round were on that. Loved those games.

Unfortunately digital delivery of these old games has taken over. It's so easy to put them on a phone or in digital packages like with Capcom Arcade Cabinet for PS3, Xbox 360.

Personally, I would kill for original arcade versions of Donkey Kong and Mario Bros instead of the crappy NES versions. I'd also like Nintendo's Popeye arcade game, but I realize that Nintendo isn't going to deal with the licensing behind that these days.

From Square, I would want FFI-XII in a single collection. For the SNES games I want the original SNES roms instead of the iOS/Android ports they push these days.

Namco has actually done a pretty fair job of curating its classic library. You can buy all five volumes of Namco Museum on PSN for play on PS3 or Vita, and they usually offer their old games in muti-game bundles. The Namco Museum titles are unfortunately not 100% comprehensive and are missing classics like Rolling Thunder, but they're pretty good.

I hope more devs do the Rare Replay thing. There was an EA Replay for PSP too.

Three Wonders looks dope.  Can you get this digitally for Vita?  I might have to buy it.

It's not in the Capcom Arcade Cabinet collection and I don't see any mention on wiki of the PSP game being available on the PSN store. So probably not.

Mine keeps asking me if I want to quit the game and go back to the home screen during gameplay. I can't figure out why.

I love classic arcade collections.  I think there is another one Capcom did on the PSP called Capcom Classics Collection: Reloaded.  It has one of my favorite obscurities on it: Pirate Ship Higemaru!

I just played that one a few months ago. All those games are on console for PS2/Xbox in two collections, CCC Vol. 1 and 2. I have those too.

I don't have this one.  I do have the Capcom Collections on the XB.  The Capcom games are great.

I'm going to play those pretty soon. There are a few extra titles in those collections also.
