I'm gonna get back into Banner Saga too. You talking about it has made me excited to play again. I'm just so addicted to that goddamn XCOM. I'm gonna play some today though. The art really is wonderful, and it's such an interesting story.

So last week I started The Banner Saga. I got several hours into it. I love the Disney annimation art style. I kept thinking of animated Lord of the Rings though, both Rankin/Bass and Bakshi versions. I like the tactics combat. It's simpler than something like Final Fantasy Tactics, but it's still really fun. The story is neat too, all about politics with these Viking-like peoples, and characters can die if they get knocked out too often, but there's no going back. You can't undo anything with a previous save file and I like that. It'll make replaying it a lot of fun. All that being said, you'll see ahead how I got side-tracked by other things this week.
First I got a new Adventure Pack, Dragon's Peak, for Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Mark gave it to me because he bought it twice off Amazon by accident. See pic.
I guess I'll be getting back to this game sometime soon. I still have to finish it and try out these Adventure Packs which come with a new level to play. It's DLC via figure packs. What's wrong with that?
Today I messed around with YouTube videos on XBO. I'm beginning to like the new UI. To go to Youtube and watch videos on Xbox 360 took a lot longer and was often unreliable. I got right to it on XBO and was watching the Brutal Doom trailer in short order.
Then I could've gone and played The Banner Saga, but I was feeling a bit strange after my month long ordeal with some weird virus and other problems related to over exercising and under eating. I'm not sure I'm ok quite yet. So Minecraft: XBO Edition was just the ticket. I play this game one way: on Survival mode, Hard difficulty and no respawns. In the first phase, I rush to protect myself and get the basic necessities taken care of and then, in the second phase, start mining. I got killed in the second phase several different times in hilarious ways: twice by Creepers and once by a Witch throwing poison. Then I did better and got deep into a natural mine. Somehow I came across the Stronghold. I cut my way in there and found myself in a room with a Mob Spawner surrounded by skelton archers. I battled valiantly, but on the last skeleton, I ran out of health and died. That was the end of my strategy of mining in natural caves. So I thought of a new, actually old, one. Dig a vertical shaft straight down, laying ladder as I go, and mine at bedrock level. I did that and didn't meet one enemy. Soon I had a full set of iron armor and every type of mineral except diamond. I guess that's the best way. Stay off the surface and out of natural caves, at least in the first two phases of the games (basic necessities, mining). I couldn't get away from Minecraft all day. It's so much fun.
I did however lament the fact that the XBO version of Minecraft does not talk with the Xbox 360 version, so Mark and I couldn't play co-op. I'm going to remedy that tomorrow by setting up my Xbox 360. We're going to mess with that awhile, and I think I'll pick up Destiny and two copies od Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edtion for other co-op goodness. Solo play is great and all, but co-op is the best. Sorry Banner Saga. Friends win.
