Today I hunted for the Venom figure for the Spider-Man playset within Disney Infinity 2.0. I found a new one at Walmart for $6, so I got that. Then I went to a Gamestop near me that had one used, and got one for Mark too. These Spider-Man playset characters are hard to find, so I thought I’d better get one for Mark in case I have trouble finding more. I mean, I’ll go to Amazon if I really have to, but I like finding them in the wild. It’s more fun that way.

Of course, this was part of the buy-2-get-3-free sale, so I had to get some more. They had Drax from the Guardians of The Galaxy playset, so I got that. Then it was whatever Skylanders they had. Turns out they had none of the core characters I wanted, so I got three Trap Team characters, all shown below with Venom but not Drax, because I forgot to put him in.

I was glad to get some more Trap Team figures. I didn’t have many of them.

And here’s what Drax looks like.

I used Drax (he’s a jumper, crawler, and melee style fighter) today to run through the Guardians of the Galaxy playset The story mission was good, but not great like the Avengers one. The story was very forgettable. I mean, it basically follows some of the plot of the movie, but it’s very simply done. There’s a little bit more platforming, and I think it was shorter, and the boss fights were very easy. The Avengers playset had boss fights you had to work at; although, for reals, they weren’t that hard.

I discovered that to really get all the bonus boxes in the play sets, you need two figure types: one that climbs and jumps, and another that flies and had a ranged attack. Certain bonus box types are not collectible by certain characters. Like, later on, I was replaying the Avengers play set and would switch from Thor to Iron Man just to pick up the Tech bonus boxes. I really needed a jumping character like Hulk to get several other bonus box types, but I didn't have one (I was fine in the Guardians play set because I had unlocked Iron Man as a cross-over character and used him for all the tech and flying bonus boxes I couldn't get with Drax).

But, it only matters a little bit. There is an achievement for getting certain numbers of Feats (objectives), and several of them are for collecting bonus boxes. But there are plenty of Feats to get, and when I hunt down the Spider-Man play set figures, I’ll certainly get enough Feats to gain all the related achievements.

And that’s what I’ll do tomorrow in between chores: go find some Spider-Man figures.

I almost did today. For a second I thought Stitch was a 1.0 character and almost put him with Socerer's Apprentice Mickey. Luckily I realized my mistake in time. Phew. That was close.

I always thought that the Drax figure with a different paint job and changed the bottom a bit he'd be a really cool Kratos figure.

He really does look like Kratos there ...

He fights like him too. although he doesn't have a weapon on a chain like Kratos. He's maybe more like Wolverine from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the video game.
