BaD Twenty-Nine: Disney Infinity 1.0

Today I finished the Spider-Man playset in Disney Infinity 2.0. I enjoyed it a lot. It's mostly the same sort of stuff I did in the Avengers Play Set, but I don't mind because the combat system is pretty good.

Then I went after the 90-Feats and second-character-to-level-20 achievements. I got those done too. Then it was the knock-down-your-friend-40-times achievement. I found a Battle Arena in the Community section of Toy Box, and Mark and I played that for a long while. You can level like crazy in that Frozen themed arena we played. I used my Baymax figure and he Hulk. He got to 40 before me because he was level 20 and I was at level 3 or so. By the end, I was level 13.

The rest of the achievements, I found out, are tied to these Power Discs. Power Discs are discs you can buy that have extra content on them. Usually they're buffs like extra experience gained or extra strength for any or specific characters. There are also ones that give you new weapons or costumes. The ones tied to achievments are the discs that came with the two types of starter packs. There's two discs in each pack and, for 2.0, there was a Marvel one and one that had Merida and Stitch. So there are four discs all together that have new levels tied to achievements. There's two survival modes and two others I forget exactly what now. So, that means I got to get some of these Power Discs. Mark ordered the four from the starter packs on Amazon for about $12. Tomorrow I'm going to stop by ToysRUs and my local retro store to see what they have. I also need one disc from Disney Infinity 1.0 for achievement hunting.

And speaking of 1.0, I started that today, and played it for a few hours with my Barbarosa character. I played through all the tutorial levels and most of the challenge (called Adventure) levels. So far it's just like 2.0; only, it feels a little less fluid in the combat. It mostly feels the same though. I'm excited to get back to it tomorrow and get into the play sets. I suppose I'll start with Pirates of the Caribbean.

Also, the opening interactive cinematic for D.I. 1.0 I remember clearly from E3 back in probably 2012. Kinda weird seeing that again.

I'm really into it with this game; although, I'm not going to get that last one with D.I. 2;0 because it requires four players. There's no mode that allows for randoms, darn it.

Its cool that they made it easier to level up your characters in the second game. In the first you could only level up so far, but to hit Level 15 you had to play a ton of toy box or follow some advice of using some tape, creating a field of fans and letting the game play for about 15 minutes (you put your figure in a car, have it jump on the field of fans and let it spin in one area for 15 minutes. If you land correctly it maxes out their level)

Ha ha! I figured there'd be some quick way to level up. I'm at level 11 after playing the Pirates Playset. I figure I could just replay it for XP, but I noticed there is an achievement for doing 75 Feats in Toy Box, which seems like all of them. I'm going to be doing a lot of Toy Box stuff, and maybe, by going for that achievement I'll level up. Also, there's an achievement for leveling 3 figures to level 15. So I'll be doing it two more times.

Yup that's the 3 figures to 15 was the trophy I was going for. I got two characters to 15, and one to 13 or 14 but by that point I was done. Someday I'll go back and grab those extra trophies.

I don't think it will be too hard for me with 6 playsets to go through and a lot of Toy Box feats to attempt.
