The by no means last temptation of mothman

I was out to day doing the old waiting for the wife while she shops routine. I wandered over to EB Games for a look around and wound up coming out with one of these things.

Controller

I also saw the Xbox 360 version of Zone of the Enders HD new for $19.00 and a used copy of one of the newer Atelier games (second game in the Arland trilogy I think) for $14.99. I was sorely tempted but with a quick "Get thee behind me EB!" I made it out with just the PC/360 wired controller.

Yes folks, mothman is going to see if he can play some games on the PC if they are compatible with a controller. I checked out Saints Row 3 and it seemed to work well. My son picked up the humble bundle with Darksiders II and he's also got the Dead Space Trilogy on Origin so I've got lots to try. I even got the Ys Origin demo that I previously couldn't run working and it works with the controller so that's cool.

Anyway I will endevour to play games on the PC and see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.

I've got one of those, but it's wireless.  Of course the dongle is huge.  I love playing games on my PC, even if it can't really handle a lot of them.  Steam and other sites make games so cheap and it's really great. I've been thinking today I might buy a new PC this year instead of a next generation console.  I dunno.

Curses, foiled again. LOL

I'm probably not going to make it through this weekend without giving in to that Zone of the Enders HD.

A friend gave me a copy of Fable for the pc and I really liked it but it was not compatable with a controller. I hate playing games on a keyboard and mouse, it just doesn't feel right. So I didn't get to far into it because my mouse hand would actually go numb. But I got a copy of Psychonauts for pc dirt cheap which was controller compatable. Don't understand why they just don't make them work both ways. Some people actually like playing on a keyboard & mouse, but most of us who play consoles want a controller. Hope your attempt pc gaming works out better than mine has.

I'm usually the one headed into various stores that sell gaming stuff that needs to be held back, lol. I've been sooooo good lately, though. Oh, wait, that's just because I'm broke. Let me know how that thing works.

Like sneen, I'm contemplating just getting a new PC (I need a new computer either way, may as well), like rangergirl, I'm broke, and like you I might tend to prefer a controller to a keyboard, though I do play all the games on my laptop (meaning Street Fighter X Megaman and whatever I find online for free) by way of keyboard, and like myself, I have a huge dongle.

No seriously, look at this thing!

I use the wireless adapter for my 360 controllers like Snee does.  It is amazingly inconvenient to bind them back and forth between the two.  I end up turning the 360 on and off multiple times in the process.  That's ok, though, I will survive.  Also, the wireless adapter is hilarious because it has an 18" wire attached to it... for some reason.

I have 4 wireless 360 controllers but I have not seen just the adapter. This one was only $39.99 so other than the million feet of wire between the controller and the USB port it's not an expensive solution. Plus I don't have to mess with batteries.

I want the Zone Of The Enders collection too. I'll get around to it eventually. Peter, you tease!

20 bucks Ben. If it's a similar price down in the Altered States you must find it young Jedi.

I need to get one of those, using my laptop keyboard is just annoying after more than 5 minutes of certain games.

Yeah it has a solid feel to it since it really is a wired 360 controller with a USB attachment. See how I avoided the word "dongle" there? LOL

I just need to figure out how to turn vibration off. It got really annoying in Saints Row the Third after about 2 minutes.

I just started on Steam and that's why the controller is interesting. I wonder if it will work on Steam games? That is a great price for ZOE HD!
