Its good to know you and Mark always have a game you can play when your N64 was acting up. I always hated cable problems with the classic plastic stuff. I think with just the Playstation alone I went through maybe four or five different cables.

I had some trouble with my N64 at the beginning of the day, but I just fixed the problem this evening, so I'll be starting Monday with that. The AV cable wasn't transmitting a signal it seems. I swapped out the cable and it worked. Thankfully it wasn't something internal. This is the N64 I had way back in the 90s. It's still working fine.
So without a backlog game to play, I got back to Destiny: The Taken King. Mark and I played through the main story missions of the DLC. We're both at the level cap of 40. I have a light level (equipment level) of just under 200 and Mark has maybe 210 or 220, I forget right now. The light level doesn't have a max cap, or so I've heard.
This game is an endlessly fun FPS. You get mission after mission. Even after Mark and I finished the main story, we were given several new missions by all the mission givers in the tower. There's still stuff to do.
There's a lot I don't understand in this game still. What are these factions, and what are Strange Coins for?
A few complaints I had were: lack of ammunition for your ranged and heavy weapons, and long, long reloads for everything (or so it seemed in the hectic firefights you always get into). There was a mission where you defend a beacon and drop ships come in from either side. You have little cover and the enemies dropped rush you like mad. I just couldn't keep enough bullets on them to stop those mad suicidal bastards. We quit out of that mission two different times. We got close the second time though.
Throughout the game, this reload thing bothered the heck out of me. I eventually started joking that I killed an enemy just with my reload. Or, I would say to Mark, "keep shooting, I'm having lunch while my gun reloads". It drove me almost to quiting. I don't get why future weapons need to reload at all. Maybe recharge or something, but don't future weapons make their own bullets? If they don't, they should. It's darn old fashioned to have to reload in the future. I'm not having it. No sir.
Another complaint I had was, and this maybe spoiler territory - so here's the highlightable text - in the story. You become basically the savior of Earth and the whole solar system, maybe the galaxy. What's your reward? More quests to fetch stuff and leftover enemy clensing. Really? I think I now am president, no emperor, of the Tower and all Sol, thank you very much. You all work for me. This will be a god game now, and I will move all you pawns on a proverbial chessboard at my whim. THAT'S how this game should end.
Otherwise, I am really liking this game. Your ship looks cool as all get out flying past asteroid belts and over the surface of planets and moons. You don't do anything flying through space, but it looks cool.
Tomorrow will be some N64 games and then back to Destiny to see what can be done. I still haven't played more than three or four matches in the Crucible (PvP zone). It's not my thing, but I heard there's a kind of Hoard mode somewhere. I'm just not sure how to find it.
Well's that's a day. More tomorrow. Bye.
