Captain America: Civil War and Metal Slug

I saw Captain America: Civil War on Friday with Mark. I'm not a huge fan of the Avenger's movies but they're fun. This one was pretty good. I liked Bucky, Winter Soldier, the best. He has the best look and fights very agressively. I liked every fight he was in. Yea, he's troubled, being partially mind controlled and all (not a spoiler if you know the comics) but I actually like him better for it because he's more human than these mostly pristine do-gooders (Iron Man has his flaws, sure, but he basically has good intentions). I didn't like how they left Bucky though. No spoilers, but it was a boring wrap-up. I wanted to see more of him riding motorcyles.

Then there was like a half hour before work where I set up my Wii and played Metal Slug 1 on SNK's Arcade Classics Volume 1. Boy the graphics on this 2D shooter are nice. There's a touch of humor thrown in here and there too. The animations are actually pretty gruesome. Guys scream and, if you use the flamethrower, the top half of their bodies light on fire but they still walk towards you until they fall down. Eww. Man is it fun though.

I was using the wiimote sideways but I want to switch to classic controler next time, if it's supported. The "B" button for grenade throwning is kind of out of the way. The whole scheme is a little bit uncomfortable and I had to get used to it. I thought it was weird you can't shoot down and I don't like having to shoot and move on the d-pad. I want to use the nunchuck to move and d-pad to aim or something close to dual stick controls. It makes it hard to stick to a position and then aim because you keep moving in the direction you aim. It was very annoying in this one level. But I really loved it and will be playing more on either Sunday after Mother's Day or Monday. I want to get to the end and see everything. The SNK collection has it's own sort of achievements you can go for, so I may try some of those after my first playthrough.

Then it'll be back to Saints Row IV. I have a new friend online, Blackfeather0, who is keen to do some co-op. I played with her in EDF Insect Armageddon and Mark played with her in Minecraft this week. If not, Mark and I will do the co-op missions.

That's all. Happy Mother's Day, my pixlated people!

Yea, that thing is sick. Cuts through everything with a chorus of wilhelm screams.

Metal Slug games are pretty good. I have the collection disk for Wii. On PS3, I enjoyed a similar game, Hard Corps: Uprising (a Contra game made by Arc System Works.)

I played a similar game by Popcap, Heavy Weapon.

I'd like to see that Capt. America: Civil War movie, but I wish all the heroes would wear "Hello My Name Is..." name tags so I could know and/or remember who some of them are.  It's especially bad in the X-Men movies.  If they're not in Marvel vs. Capcom games, I probably won't know who they are.

I had that problem with one or two of them. I know very little about Bucky or Antman or The Vision or Scarlett Witch or that flying guy. Was he Falcon? Yea, it was Falcon. Also War Machine and  Crossbones. Ok, that's more than two.

gonna go see it on thursday, when the movie theater is pretty empty. Looking forward to it!  I've seen all the marvel movies except for antman and deadpool.  But I know who antman is.  I should watch those though I guess.

Today the new Radiohead album comes out, so besides mother's day it's like christmas for pretentious music lovers like myself!  :)

I missed Captain America: WInter Soldier and Antman. I think I've seen the rest though.

I got a bunch of Radiohead albums to listen to last year. For some reason I didn't get to them.

I am more of a DC guy. All though I do not like the new Bat Flack and UnSuperman movie. I do like the Suicde Squad movie and plan to go see it.

I'm definitely seeing Suicide Squad. I was following Harley Quinn in the comics a while back.

I've always like Harley. As a matter of fact my wife on Fire Emblem Conquest, Peri, looks like her and is crazy as hell, lol.

Really what I liked was Paul Dini's Gotham City Sirens comic series. It was Harley, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. A new Harley series came out after that and I followed that a bit, but it wasn't as great as the Sirens. Suicide Squad like probably the closest I'll get to a movie based on Sirens.
