The Kind of Bullshit Australia Gets Stuck With

So, on top of having to deal with how shitty our dollar is at the moment, Bethesda (and a few other companies, but Bethesda is the one that most consitently does it) decides to charge us $80 usd. For those who don't know the conversion rate, that's $110 aud, which is all kinds of fucked up.

I've accepted that I have to pay more because our dollar is shit. I won't accept companies trying to exploit us. Fuck you Bethesda. Fuck you.

That is shitty. A shame too because it's a great game bit no game is good enough that you should take getting exploited to play it.

I bought it on PS4. Bethesda only pull that shit on Steam for some reason. I bought it for 80 aud which is much better, though I would much prefer mouse and keyboard.

I rented it on XB1 and am surprised how well it works with a controller. Still plan on buying it Steam sale later for keyboard and mouse and it's good enough to replay, but I'm still glad it works on a console

The only thing I hate right now are the levels with bottomless pits and tons of jumping. ID has had a thing for those since Quake and it's really annoying here.

goddamn man!  Australia is fucking insane! I mean, I'm excited to play it but I'm gonna wait for a price drop myself.  Do they have Steam sales in Australia?

Yep. Kind of bullshit. Hopefully there's a steam sale soon.

It's about $90 here with taxes. Stoopid Canadian Ruble. Going to wait for a discount.

Yeah but we're not nearly as bad off at the Aussies are. A physical copy of the PS4 version on Amazon.ca is $79.89 CAD which is less than $61 USD. Physical PC version works out to around $53.36 USD or 69.99 CAD.

I kinda wish I had gotten Doom now, but I'm liking these $40 titles right now like Ratchet & Clank, Valkyria Chronicles Remasters and the upcoming Odin's Sphere remake. (oops, Odin'a Sphere will be $60 in the US).

Do games come down in price fairly quickly in Australia?

PC games do. Console games generally take a year to come down a bit in price, and Nintendo games literally never drop in price. Wii games are still $99 here.

Nintendo prices stay up in the US too, just less high.
