MS E3 Conference and Minecraft

I wanted to play some Saints Row Iv today (Monday) but cloud saves were offline, so I played some Miinecraft instead. Then I watched the MS E3 Conference live on Xbox 360 and then back to Minecraft because I got somewhat disinterested in Saints Row IV even though cloud saves came back online.

I'm really excited about the XBO S console coming in August; although, I'm thinking now of trading in a lot of stuff to get an XBO for my friend Mark right now so we can finally catch up with this generation.

I'm realizing that I will just never get to all the games on all the systems I want to play. What's most important is the co-op game play Mark and I have been doing on Xbox. Everything else is just not going to happen. I'm sure of it now. So, I'll trade in a lot of stuff tomorrow and get a XBO with several games with co-op, mostly FPS games, 'cause that's what Mark and I play most of the time; that is, when we're not distracted by Minecraft.

I'm really getting kind of burnt out on gaming at the moment and this focus on one console and just a handful of games (I have like four games on my XBO co-op FPS list) is kind of a relief to me. I'm keeping my handhelds for the moment though and some of my older systems. I'm not sure what to do with those as of yet. My backlog play has been going really slowly and I feel that I'll never get to those either. Maybe they should all go too. I'll think about that.

Anyway, I played Minecraft with Mark on Xbox 360 all day out of a kind of gaming exhaustion. Mark and I tried to get to The Nether and build a full enchantment table. We did it but then I began to realize I needed to level up to 30 for the best enchantments, and along that grind, I died battling Ghasts in The Nether and got really annoyed at losing all my experience. Yes, I could've had Mark just restart from a previous save, but where's the fun in that? It's the risk that makes it fun.

Then we went to our own worlds and I challenged him to a race to find the first diamonds in our respective worlds. I won and it went faster then I expected. We both kept playing and I got the Nether portal up and battled it out in there, dying a few times, and getting annoyed at losing XP. I think the XP problem is the biggest barrier to progress in this game the way I'm playing it. I'm not sure what to do about it because I'm trying to get to my goals as quickly as possible. Well, it's fun anyway.

I do hope to get back to some shooters on XBO soon in full co-op glory. Maybe tomorrow that'll all happen. We'll see.

Adios amigos!

I'm the opposite.  I play games to get away from people.  I like getting lost in stories, much like watching a movie (but more interactive).  I only ever really played fighting games online, and I don't really have time to learn them anymore (though I still buy them and dabble).  I'm not really gaming much anymore due to lack of time, but Sony showed some stuff that really interested me.  I haven't ever really been a fan of MS, but the XBO S is tempting.  Well, it would be if they weren't coming out with Scorpio next year.

I sometimes wonder if I'd play much if my friend Mark wasn't around.

I was actually kind of burnt out on gaming until this E3. There are so many games I'm looking forward to, even though Microsoft didn't have a lot to offer. Scalebound and Gears of War 4 look great though, and if I didn't own an Xbox One already, I'd be getting the Xbox One S.

I was waiting for some cool XBO console to come out so I could hand my current one to my friend Mark. Then we'll be able to play the newer games at the same time.

so you ordered an Xbox, huh?  cool!  I might wait for the Scorpio thing.  I think by that time there might be more Xbox exclusives I'm interested in.

I think I'm changing my mind now that I know it's $399 and not $299 for the XBO S. Smaller and more memory is not enough to justify an extra hundred dollars. I think I'll just get my friend a refurb XBO for $219 and stick with the one I have for myself. I'll be good with that for a long while, I think.

I didn't watch the Microsoft presentation but I did hear something about if you buy an XBox 1 game, you get the PC version and vice versa. This is something I am interested in especially since I do not own an X1 and I'd like to try some of their games.

I wonder how well PC/XBO play is going to work, but I guess now that the XBO U.I. is so similar to Win 10 that maybe they've worked out all the kinks.
