Another game off Mt. Backlog

It was sitting there, mocking me, from the top of the pile of DVDs and video games piled precariously next to my TV. "you were almost done and then you forgot about me" it seemed to say. And I was pretty close to the end when I put it down and wandered off to do something else and promptly forgot about it. What was this game, you ask? Tales of Symphona Chronicles. And the game was Tales of Symphonia. It took me a bit, but I finished it, as well as knocked several sidequests that I missed in the original Game Cube version, found all the recipes, and restored the town of Luin. I also didn't realize that there's a point in the game where you have to make a choice, and that influences who is in your party from that point on. So now I may play through again at a later date with the other character, just because I can.

I just started Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World two nights ago. So far, I'm underwhelmed, but I'll play through just to see where the story goes. And it might grow on me. I didn't care for the original Tales of Symphonia at first, either, and that became one of my favorite games of all time.

Tales of Tales Overdose

Not really. No overworld, just a map to choose your destination, and not really sure how some of the game mechanics work yet. And the protagonist is kind of annoying.

My brother Jeff and I played through Tales of Symphonia on GameCube.  It sure was fun with two players.  I'm not sure if we beat it or not, but I know we got to the end.  We really didn't care about the story too much.  We just liked mashing buttons and fighting monsters and "Pancake Time!"  I tried to play it again on the PS3 collection, but it wasn't the same by myself.

Right now I'm working on reviewing Rhythm Heaven Megamix on 3DS!

It was a step down from the original, which is on my short list of recent classics. It isn't bad. I can't even say it's disappointing, because I knew it wasn't going to measure up to the original.

I wouln't call myself disappointed, merely underwhelmed. And I'm only a little way in, so too early to judge.

I just traded in all my PS3 games including Tales of Symphonia, but I have the Gamecube original still. Now that I'm without PS3 games, I'm thinking of picking some up again. What will I do with myself.

And this is why I don't trade stuff in, lol.

I do this to myself from time to time. Then I start buying it all back. Stupid me.

I once traded in a couple of games and immediately regretted it, thus leading to my game hoarding habit.

I do it with music and books too. My regret is fading more now that I can get a lot of stuff again digitally if I want. I don't feel like I just gave away the last copy of something. It'll be there up in the cloud somewhere.
