New stuff and what I'm playing currently

I keep trying to finish more games than I acquire, but I am weak of will...

Had a $50 Gamestop gift card left over from Christmas that I finally spent a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for Lego Jurassic World and Lego Marvel's Avengers, but the store I went into didn't have either one used, and isn't selling new PS3 or 360 gmes anymore. I ended up with Front Mission Evolved and Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time for the PS3, Assassin's Creed 3 and some Nat Geo game for the 360, and a 3DS game called Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven, which appears to be a SRPG. I got home and discovered that the Nat Geo game wasn't the game I thought it was and requires a Kinect to play, so that one will find a new home. I don't feel too bad, I only spent about $2 on it. I had a few bucks left over on the card, but I didn't feel like giving Gamestop any more of my time, effort, or money, so I gave it to one of my nephews.

A few days later, I needed to run some errands, and had to go into Target. Of course I had to wander through the games and movies section. Picked up Lego Jurassic World for my 360 and the Bourne Collection on BluRay. And later, during a trip into Good Will, I picked up Sly Cooper 4 and a blue PS3 controller and a charging cable for $11 total.

I'm still in the middle of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World at home, and playing Fantasy Life when I'm on the go. I also caved and played through Lego Jurassic World in its entirety last week. More on that later in a Late to the Party blog.

I still hadn't seen Jurassic World before I played the game, so I had an idea of what was going to happen in the movie when I watched it the other night. Just with less Lego and more blood and casualties.

Well, I'm done here for now. I need to decide if I'm going to do something constructive with my day, or if I'm just going to say "forget it" and go back to playing games. Being as it is now after noon here, I have a feeling gaming will win out...

LEGO Jurassic World is actually one of the funnier LEGO games I've reviewed.  LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also pretty funny, too.

Right now I'm not really playing anything worth mentioning, just a bunch of dinky games I'm reviewing.  There just isn't anything good coming out until September.

That's kind of the good thing about being so behind on game playing. I don't have to wait for the good stuff to be released. And I remember when you reviewed Lego Jurassic World and you mentioned that it was pretty funny then.

Ratchet and Sly are both awesome games. Assassin's Creed 3 will probably be disappointing, there are few games I hate as much as that one. Haven't played Lego Jurassic World, but thought the movie was pretty fun. Nothing brilliant, but did a good job of hitting all the right nostalgia buttons and Chris Pratt is always welcome. Hoping the sequels do something really different though.

I only picked up Sly because it was cheap. I hated the first game.

2-4 at least give a different structure. They offer open areas for you to roam around in and pick your missions leading up to a final heist. If you like Ocean's 11 you should like it.

I still haven't played a lego game. I should probably get around to that.

I usually love dumb movies, but Jurassic World didn't land for me for some reason. Don't know why.

Lego games are buggy as hell, but so much fun.

Yeah, I think the plot had too many holes and not enough likable characters.

I didn't like the first Jurassic Park movie. I was more into the novel. I read a shitload of Michael Crichton back in the day.  too bad he died so young.

I almost bought the Ratchet and Clank Vita collection last PSN sale but I've been trying to ease up on my old backlog.

I also read a lot of Michael Crichton, but never could get into Jurassic Park, so I liked the movie fine. I may be one of the only people that liked the movie The Thirteenth Warrior though (based on Eaters of the Dead). Mostly because I could understand what all the Scandinavian extras were saying, and it certainly wasn't what the subtitles said they were saying, lol.

ha ha my brother loves that movie!  Man, Crichton was so cool.

I enjoyed Jurassic World.  I was a big fan of Jurassic Park, but Lost World wasn't very good, and I've never sat through 3, so I really wasn't expecting much.  When it made so much money at the box office, I bought into the hype and asked my wife to get it for me for Christmas.  She enjoyed it just as much as I did.  It was pretty much Star Wars Episode 7, in that it paralleled the first movie, but it wasn't bad.  Glad they didn't go with dinosaur/human hybrids like some of the concept art showed.  That would have been terrible.  I'm sure they'll be in the next one though.  Hollywood just can't say no to bad ideas.

To be honest, I liked all four movies. Three was actually better than The Lost World. And while I enjoyed Jurassic World, I feel like it was lacking something. At least The Lost World had Goldblum, and he did have some great lines.

I'm currently playing Dragon Age: Iquisition (PS4) and Persona 4 Golden (Vita).  I finished both games several times and I continue to play them.

What? Not Mass Effect?! Are you running a fever?

Wow, your Gamestop has already stopped selling PS3 and 360 games? My local stores still sell them.

Current games: Valkyria Chronicles HD and I am Setsuna, both PS4.

I don't know if all of them have stopped, or just that one. There are three within a short distance of each other, but I never go to the other two, so I have no idea what's going on with them.

You got Sly 4 a PS3 contoller and charging cable for $11? That's good. I just got a PS3 controller, used, charging cable and PS3 power cable and it cost me $56. At least I have a PS3 I can use now when those games come up in my backlog. Of course, I traded in all those games recently, so I'll be picking them up again one at a time when they come up in my playlist. I really wanted a custom, or different color, controller but Jay St. Video Games only had one left and it was the standard black one.

I have no idea if the controller works. It is very sticky, so I suspect someone young owned it. I'll give it a good cleaning before I plug it in. I still think it's incredibly cheap of Goodwill to take the cables from electronics and charge extra for them. I'm pretty sure that charging cable came with that controller.

I asked about the new controller Jay Str. VG had and it didn't come with a charge cable. How the heck would you use it without one?

Hey Lego Jurassic World. How did you like it? I thought it was fun but I wish there was more to the open world sections of the game. A lot of traveling but not a lot to do. I also played the game before watching the flick. The movie was fine.

I know this feeling well. I sit here looking at the 1000s of games I have and just cant seem to find the will to stick with many until I beat it.
