It wasn't all fun today as I helped Mark (who's wheelchair bound btw) build some shelving and move some cabinetry around his apartment. But then it was all fun. Mostly the same as yesterday. Defense Grid 2 and Minecraft.
I got the 50k kills achievement in Defense Grid 2 today. I worked on some levels to get me closer to the 100 gold medal achievement as well. Co-op play was the most fun though, and I can get gold medals for that too. The cooperative really becomes competitive. You work together against the aliens but then you battle for high score. I would start the game thinking about the aliens, but then would think about score. If I got too far ahead, I would slow down so Mark could at least get the gold medal, then I'd pour on the steam again to try and regain the points lead. It was really fun. I used missile towers exclusively this time with a chemical augment. It created huge streams of green vapor trails in the sky every time my battery of launchers fired. I took a video clip of that zoomed in up close. I'm loving this tower defense game to the max.
Then I decided to create a kind of starter kit for Minecraft to make things less tedious. I made a new world, put it in creative mode and made a library with enchantment table right at the spawn point. Then I filled two chests with diamond swords, pick axes, regular axes, lapis lazuli (used in enchantment), and loads of XP potions (you need to be level 30 to make the best items). So the first thing we would do in the game, when we arrived in survival mode, would be to enchant all the equipment to gain boosts in resource gathering. Then we'd do the regular thing: look for a village as a base, gain obsidian for the Nether Portal, and go to battle in The Nether. Oh man, this was the way to do it. Resource gathering was sooo much easier and we could get to fighting skeleton knights and everything else much quicker.
Well, that's a day. Tomorrow Mark and I might go shooting photos, but some gaming will certainly be had after that.
I keep thinking of that Metallica song, "Into the Never" and calling it "Into the Nether". The Nether is a dark place full of danger. I noticed my clock in my inventory the other day going all haywire while in the Nether. It's a seperate dimension of evil.
Yea, it's great but his stamina is legendary. I'm really burned out on gaming after this week. Well, not completely burned out, but I'm worried I'm sitting for too long. That's not a healthy thing to do.
Trying. Trying.
