My plans sort of fell through on Saturday to do something other than veg in front of a TV, so I vegged in front of a TV. I got some quality time in with Skylanders Superchargers and a smattering of other games before and after.
The day started with Earthlock: Festival of Magic. I got to the pirate boss and got my butt handed to me. It seemed unfair and I wasn't looking forward to roaming around grinding for levels, so I quit for the time being. It'll go on my backlog list and I'll get back to it sometime. I know I probably missed how to boost skills properly or something like that.
Then I finally returned to my backlog and got into Skylanders Superchargers again. I'm sort of glad I'm back to my backlog plan. It makes me feel more normal again. Anyway, I put in most of the afternoon roaming the various locations in the game completing air and water areas I missed on my first playthrough. There's quite a bit of content in this game. The areas I missed were large and full of new challenges. I was also looking for those one armed bandits you have to find in each area.
I switched figures around quit a bit. There are some element specific areas and challenges specific to each figure. After a while, though, I mostly used Dive-Clops and his vehicle Dive Bomber.

It was actually the first figure I bought for the game. I had a challenge to use his sonar attack. His attack moves are a little bit strange. He doesn't really have a melee attack and is slow, so it was a trick to figure out how to use him effectively. I figured out that, after he shoots explosive mines, you can follow up with a sonar attack and blow them up. That was a good move for the guy.
I also got Mark to jump in for some co-op. We did a few races, side missions, and played that Magic: The Gathering-like card game. Turns out you can co-op every area of the game, not just the races like I'd been told. It's great! The driving sections of the campaign put both of you in the same vehicle and you can switch from being the driver or shooter whenever you want. Perfect!
Then I needed a break from hunting every last gambling machine and unfinished level and played a few minutes of Doom II. Turns out I haven't finished the XBLA, now XBO, port of the game. Of course, I've played it many times on other systems, but there's cheevos to be had, so I'll play it again.
Well, only a few minutes into that, Mark wanted to play some Defense Grid 2 co-op, so I couldn't say no. We did the last few story mode levels to get gold medals. I'm hot on lasers, or bug zappers as I call them, right now. I put them on boost platforms and give them either a disruptor or score boost ability. Then maybe I'll add a few missile launchers if I need them. Really fun.
So that's a day. Tomorrow I plan more nongaming stuff but I'll play some in the evening most likely.
