Two Ultra Quick PSA's

Hey guys, I have two really short things to say that don't really constitute a full blog but I want to fix something I said a while ago and briefly tell you to play an awesome game.

Right. Firstly, Necropolis is good now. I was really down on the game a little while ago but the devs fixed damn near everything and made a compelling Zelda cross Dark Souls style rogue like. It's easier than either Dark Souls or most Roguelikes, but it's a blast to play now and I'm sorry I was so down on it earlier.  They mainly fixed the combat and added more stuff to make you actually want to replay it. It also has a great atmosphere!

Secondly, if you won either a PS Vita or a Wii-U GET SEVERED IMMEDIATELY! It's a unique spin on the Wizardry/Legend of Grimrock/Ultima Underground brand of first person dungeon crawling with a haunting look at the darker side of Mexican mythology. The atmosphere, art style, and combat are what really set it apart though. The combat is entirely done via touch controls and it's amazing. You have to swipe certain angles, look after multiple enemies at once and parry when they attack. It gets quite frantic and difficult but it's always extremely satisfying to play. Plus it's by the Guacamelee guys and they seem to have grown past the whole referential humour bent, which is great!

Yep, though not for a while. Should get back into it.

I do like Guacamelee and a game that actually uses the swipe controls instead of just throwing them into the game actually sounds like fun.

Yeah, and it feels like the game was built from the ground up around the combat system. It's definitely not tacked on which is awesome.

I declined to review Severed because a game where you cut off limbs off of monsters didn't sound like my cup of tea.  But I'm sure it's still a good game with Drinkbox's past record.  I loved Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Guacamelee.

It's not for everyone. It's definitely quite gruesome and dark, but it's so original and atmospheric that I had to tell people about it.

Just bought Severed on Wii U. Apparently there is a 3DS version coming and I get that for free.
