Fuck you, have music.

I've been listening to a lot of tunes lately, and thought you guys might enjoy some of them.

Idles - Mother

Let's start with a very British Post Punk band that's here to kick your arse and tell Tory's to fuck off. With lines like this, you know they aren't fucking about.

"Sexual violence doesn't start and end with rape

It starts in our books and behind our school gates
Men are scared women will laugh in their face
Whereas women are scared its their lives men will take"

Their music is chaotic yet somewhat catchy. Enjoy.

Remo Drive - Yer Killing Me

Pay attention, because I have a feeling these guys might blow the fuck up soon. Their first album just dropped, and it's a really fun emalgamation of 90's/early 2000's era indie punk/emo that takes a lot of inspiration from Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins.

This song is just fun. It's got killer riffs and one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Seriously, watching these goofballs makes me laugh like I haven't since watching the stupid Blink 182 videos.

Sun Kil Moon - Alesund

Sun Kil Moon makes some very pretty and emotive music. I don't know what to say, just listen to this beautiful bit of post-folk. It's gorgeous.

Noname - Sunny Duet

GUYS! It finally happened! There's a female rapper I'm enjoying! Why the fuck aren't there more awesome female rappers? Actually there's probably a ton. Why the fuck haven't I sought them out earlier?

Oh well fuck it. Noname is awesome. She's rapping style is quite quirky and introspective. Her beats remind at times of a mix of 2004 era Kanye West (all soul samples) and a really good Chance the Rapper beat. But her songs are just great. Check her out.

Pain of Salvation - On a Tuesday

So Dream Theater have sucked for quite a while unfortunately, and Queensryche has been somewhat inconsistent. Fortunately, Pain of Salvation continues to kick ass. This is brilliant prog metal that reminds me quite a bit of Leprous or Haken, only quite a bit more moody and depressing. It's still a fun and kickass album, but it's got some great atmosphere and an actually quite good story behind it. An absolute must for old school prog metal fans.

I'll have to come back later when I've required the joy middle finger giving Lego glitches have taken from me.

Right now, I'm just mad music brings happiness to others because THEY DON'T KNOW MY FIRST WORLD STRUGGLE.

I'm definitely going to check out NoName.  I don't listen to enough hip hop lately.

Prog metal sounds fun. Never could get into Dream Theater though.

Remo Drive does have that late 90s/early 2000s pop-punk sound. I dug it.
