Not that it is of any use until next week. It's listed as preorder on GOG and there's a 4 day countdown clock. Oh they did give me some wallpaper.

Reviews haven't been great but a lot of the complaining is that they haven't changed the mechanics since the N64 days, to which I respond "so the fuck what?" I've played Banjoe Kazooie recently and the mechanics didn't bother me. Likewise DK64.

So I'll play it myself instead of listening to Sterling's hipster whinging and 2 out of 10 score.

I really want to get on with P5 this weekend. It's Persona, I have to.

2 out of 10 is serious trolling.  I don't know why idiots listen to those youtube fucks.

Persona 5 will be in my mail any day now. I hope tomorrow. Gameinformer's podcast was saying great things about it today.

I heard IGN say it had too few worlds nd one was a not grest casino. That critique seemed legit. But why change classic mechanics.

I ordered my copy of Yooka-Laylee on PS4 via Amazon, and they sent me a code to download something called the Yooka-Laylee Toybox+.  It's just a demo level that's filled with a bunch of geometric shapes, like a VR level.  And when you get all the feathers in the level, you can view a secret that's in the actual game that's probably all over the internet by now anyway.

From the demo, I'll say it mostly plays great.  Except the move where Yooka rolls and Laylee runs on top of him feels too slippery.  I think they were trying to imitate the move where Kazooie walks fast, but controls in Yooka-Laylee just feel slightly more loose to me.  If there are any ice levels in that game, they are going to suck!  But I'll just have to see when I get the game.

I don't put too much stock in professional critics anymore. It seems like most of the old guard critics went on to other things or left the industry altogether, and I'm not impressed with the new crop of Youtube "stars". I will say that a lot of the games I loved were 70-80 range on Metacritic, and I didn't like a lot of 90+ games on MC (my feelings on MC itself are another topic for another day). Unless a game is obviously broken (which sadly, quite a few Kickstarter games ended up being broken, which makes me worry about the only KS game I'm really hyped for, Shenmue III), whether it's good or not is a subjective opinion dependent on each gamer's tastes. I haven't heard about Y-L being in the "obviously broken" category, so I imagine that if you liked Banjo, you'll probably enjoy Yooka-Laylee.

A lot of the reviews that spoke negative about it complained about the very things it set out to do, like really? Thats why people wanted the game, are you an idiot?

I pretty much am not taking in any opinion on it until I have played it myself. I have been playing P5 non stop. Im on the second palace and Im trying not to rush it like I did the first. I sent the calling card really fast and while It didnt hurt my playthrough I wanna take a little more time before that.

Wow a 2 out of 10? I wonder if the negative reviews are based more on the fact that it isn't Banjo or DK. Its good that you are excited to play it regardless of the reviews.

I've been playing it for a bit now. It's fun.
