It's a tough choice between the Advance Wars series and Pikmin. I guess I'd have to give the edge to Advance Wars. I love the look of the game. It's like playing with military toys as a kid. I find the gameplay a little bit frustrating in the higher levels. Someone described it as a kind of puzzle to solve. There's not a lot of different ways to win, you just have to solve it the way they want you to.

I sort of wish all these difficult strategy games with somewhat cartoony visuals, like Civ Rev, had some mode that frees me from the actual strategy. I think I want to do like I did as a kid and run simulations from both sides and see how it plays out. Maybe a mode that let's you set up and then it plays itself or just that you control both sides, i.e. no A.I. .

U can probably do that on pc.  Thats how i play madden.  I create my own players and pit them against each other.

That's great. There's always a way on PC, it seems. Sometimes I think I should just create a game, then I can play both sides and meddle with it anyway I want.

Chose Zelda, but I love all of those franchises almost equally. I just like Nintendo games, I can't help it goddammit.

Any specific reason why zelda edges out the rest?

There's something about Zelda games that's just completely engrossing. Whenever I play one, it's on my mind until I finish it up. The Souls games live in that same mental space for me and engage me very similarly. They're not totally similar, but something about that third party action style in a world that's unfolding as you progress makes both of them resonate extremely well with me.

Also, I have incredible nostalgia for Zelda. I've been playing it literally my entire life. The first game I loved was Zelda 1 on the NES and I've beaten that game more times than I can remember. I played it straight up until I got A Link to the Past, and I played that straight until I got Ocarina of Time, so on and so forth. At this point I'm so vested in that universe that it just tops anything else almost by default.

I choose Zelda, it just has had some great games to it. I started with the N64 titles years ago. Now I will say, I enjoyed Pokemon Moon way more than the new Zelda. I just really feel like BOTW was not a true Zelda game for me. I know a lot of people like it but I personally just couldnt enjoy it overall. I still love the series though.

Zelda, with Mario as a close second. A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time are some of my favorite games of all time. Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are also really good. Unfortunately, I fell off the franchise with Twilight Princess and BoTW doesn't really interest me either, it being open-world and all.

Zelda (I don't have a Twitter account). Those were the only options you had, but I prefer other series just as much. Ultimately I would just pick Zelda over Metroid because of consistent releases.

My number one favorite Nintendo franchise is Kirby.  But I like a lot of others, too.  Like Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, etc.  I like Mario, too, but not as much as you think I would.  I think it would be easier for me to list the Nintendo franchises I DON'T like as much.  Those would be Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Star Fox, and Punch Out.

I've never played a Kirby game. Casey says I need to get the fuck on that asap, and that I should start with return to dreamland.

 HERESY! Fire Emblem is amazing!

There are lots of great Kirby games to start with.  Kirby's Super Star, Kirby Triple Deluxe, heck, even the side games are good.  Like Kirby's PInball Land, Kirby Air Ride, or the game I started with: Kirby's Dream Course.

Zelda has the most different gameplay elements inside of each game and is consistently good.

I love F-Zero, Star Fox, etc., but they're pretty much aiming at one genre/niche, whereas Zelda games have more of an open feel (yes, even outside Breath of the Wild; just because you have to tackle dungeons in a certain order doesn't mean there wasn't an open world around those dungeons in every game).

Metroid. The Alien influences, the labyrinthine world, the powers, haunting music, the feelings of isolation and discovery in an alien world, Samus' somersault. Remember when video game heroes used to do cool somersaults?

Metroid is mine too. I just finished Super and Fusion back to back. Fusion... man I have mixed feelings about that game I need to talk about at some point.

Zelda for sure (No Twitter for me, that place is scummier than any porn site hosting legal porn). It's my favorite video game series period. Love the enemies, weapons, swordfighting, the exploration, pretty much everything.

Also love Metroid, Mario, and Fire Emblem. I'd be hard pressed to find a Nintendo series I didn't like.

Whats wrong with Twitter?

And fair enough. Zelda Is pretty great, but I still prefer Metroid.

Hey I remember that Twitter pole, and I think I answered SMB. I have to go with that one because it was the first game I played on the NES, and every Nintendo console I've owned I've at least tried their mario game.
