These are the five fire element Skylanders from Skylanders: Giants that are on the poster. Two are new to the series (Hot Head and Hot Dog) and the rest return from Spyro's Adventure in new poses.

Hot Head, Flameslinger, Lightcore Eruptor, Ignitor, Eruptor, Hot Dog

Hot Head is a Fire Golem. One day he jumped into a pool of magical oil hoping it would cool down his usually firey temperment. Instead, it blew up the entire island he was on in a giant fireball. After that, he was in possession of an infinite supply of oil to fuel his firey attacks. He became a valuable ally in the fight against the Arkeyans.

The middle four Skylanders all return from Spyro's Adventure with one being a Lightcore variant. I like Ignitor's firey sword.

Hot Dog was born in The Popcorn Volcano. One day the volcano erupted throwing Hot Dog out of it and into a Skylander mission camp site. There he helped the Skylanders complete a mission and defeat a lava golem. He was broght back to Eon's Citadel where he became a Skylander.

I have an Eruptor figure that looks like he's barfing.  Eruptor is also a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

That's the Erupter from Swap-Force. That was the first one I remember seeing in the store when my nephew was into it. I thought it was humerous and also a cool design. It was a few years later that I actually started getting into buying them.

I miss lightcores. For the price they want for these new figures all of them should light up. Why not when they did it for Giants.

Lightcores do look cool. They're like $15 brand new in the first half a year or so from release. Even a sale on Imaginators that made them about $12 each wasn't enough to get me to buy. I spent between $3-$5 on most of the other ones and, in the last 6 six months, I got a lot for about $1 each. Imaginators are still pricey, although they should start going on sale pretty soon.

The characters with the new poses, do have new powers or abilities to open up different areas than the previous versions?

It's doesn't seem so. I've been reading the Wikia pages for all these characters and there are no new pages for the Series 2 and 3 characters with new poses. I guess they are just for people who missed them the first time around. You can still use the Series 1 versions and they play the same. I really have to play more of the games though. Time has been an issue lately.
