Hey! Pikmin demo - Got this through spot pass this week and played it. I really like it. It’s in 2D but uses the pikmin similarly. You use the stylus a lot to send pikmin around the screen. It looks great too. I want to buy it right now, but I’ll have to wait for my rental to come.
Minecraft – Played it first while Lego Pirates was installing. Mark and I got on a very good run and nearly unlocked The End gate. We kind of stopped when it became difficult to find more Endermen. I’ve been setting up the game with some of the new settings. You can make the biomes spawn larger and uncheck the “balance biomes” check box to make the world feel a little bit more real. The default settings make small biomes and lots of them, and it feels strange, like a theme park or something. I really like the larger biomes.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean – This was free this month on Games with Gold on XBO. I’m pretty sure I played a demo of this way back because I remembered the first chapter of the first game. I finished the first game based on the first movie. Then I got four out of five chapters into the second game/movie when I met with some trouble. I had to replay the entire chapter several times and then couldn’t finish it because of a glitch in the very last battle. There was a last enemy I needed to kill that I couldn’t find. It’s annoying that you can’t just restart at the checkpoints. Or, maybe you can and I’m just not paying attention, but I restarted the whole chapter instead. I liked replaying it, but I was getting a little bit annoyed. I think the game covers the first four movies, so there’s a lot more to do. I’ll probably go back in free play too to try and get every secret.
Fire Emblem Echoes – Just got this on rental and loaded it up tonight. I’ll just play a short bit of it before bed. I can’t wait to see how it plays.
Tomorrow, maybe some Spider-Man movie action and more gaming. I noticed EDF Insect Armageddon just got added to backwards compatibility on XBO, so I may play some of that again. I love that game.
I played the Hey! Pikmin demo. I didn't like the other PIkmin games much, but I enjoyed this one a lot more. Probably because it's easier to wrap my head around the 2-D space gameplay. I'll probably get it next week along with the new Pikmin amiibo.
There is another free 3DS eShop demo you should try, it's called Miitopia.

I played the Miitopia demo too. I just forgot the title when I wrote the blog, so I left it out. I like that. Interesting. I discovered I have only one friend's Mii to use in the game. I chose a bunch of randoms but I kind of wish I could draw from the Mii's I get in Mii Plaza. Some of them I know from frequent street passes. Not friends though, but I'd like to see some familiar Miis.

I scanned QR codes to get Miis of video game characters on my team. So my team was my Mii, Zelda, Samus, and Cammy.

Lego Pirates was a fun game. What was the glitch you ran into? I might have run into it once, but after restarting it no problems.
I'm not sure if it was a glitch or something I did, but there's a level where you are attacked from all sides and have to kill five enemies slightly different from the rest. I couldn't find the fifth one no matter what I did. I went back and replayed it and it was ok. I think maybe I knocked the character into some quicksand and he couldn't get back on the screen or something.
Yeah that sounds like a Lego game problem. I've had things similar to that and it sucks.
I also got a character stuck in the environment once and had to quit and restart.
