Monster Hunter Stories/Skylanders/Forza Horizon

I downloaded and played a few hours of Monster Hunter Stories. So far, I really love it. It's so colorful, like a cell shaded game, and the design is complex but not overly so, which makes it kind of perfect for a handheld game. The colors really pop and it's easy to navigate on those small screens. I like the gameplay too. Turn-based RPG, oh yea. I like. It's just the demo though. I might rent the full game when I'm finished (I'm still on "no-buy" status). We'll see.

Here's the Light and Dark element figures I have for Skylanders Trap Team. Those elements were new to Skylanders with Trap Team. Here's a pic.

That's Knight Light, Spotlight, and Knight Mare (I'm missing Blackout).

I played some more Forza Horizon today while Agents of Mayhem installed. So still love this game. There are so many races! And so many cars. I don't know where to start. I just zip around the map hitting anything that's labeled new and exploring any streets I haven't traveled on yet. I haven't done anything in multiplayer yet, but I will. I'll finish the main story (I just unlocked the orange wrist band races), then check the achievement list, and then play multiplayer. That's my usualy pattern.

Also, I'm thinking I may check out IGN again. I heard today that they were the last buyers of 1UP. They basically put it to sleep hoping to gain all their user base. I didn't go there, but I'm going to check it out again. They have too many ads on their pages. I know you can pay to get rid of those, but I'm not doing that. I actually have a blog I started there a while ago but didn't stick with it. Maybe I'll try and do a blog there and mention Pixlbit.

I used to visit IGN all the time, and I started visiting them way back in the beginning, too, when they were just known as n64.com.  But I stopped going there a few years ago because their site was so messy and I was getting all the press released they talked about in my email anyway.  After 1UP.com went away, I started a blog here and a blog at IGN.  There was no sense of community at IGN, so after a few blog entries, I stopped using it.

I don't think I have any light or dark elemental Skylanders at all.

I noticed that IGN is a Ziff/Davis production. I guess they dug themselves out of the hole they were in and made IGN their main gaming site.

I just made a comment on their message boards. I might use it just for that.

Hey. What's your user name over on IGN. I need to follow someone over there. Maybe we'll create a community.

I don't remember.  It's probably Cary Woodham.  It's been years since I've been there.

I searched your name and didn't come up with anything. I'm SamuraiSailor over there.

Maybe it got taken down or erased due to lack of use.  I don't know.

Knight Mare, huh?  Now that's a bad pun.

Yea, these have less interesting names than some of the others. It's possible that Skylanders peaked with Trap Team. Superchargers and Imaginators just didn't strike the same chord.
