Forza and Dragon Quest Heroes II

I had to wait for a massive update on my PS4 that I haven't booted up in months, so I went back to Forza Horizon 2. Then, after I finally pulled myself away from it, I started Dragon Quest Heroes II and played it for several hours.

Forza Horizon 2: Cleared a few more achievements. One for becoming the Horizon champion. This takes 18 Championships, or 72 races. When you finish it, you get this mega long race to complete that takes you all over the map. When that's done, you basically start all over again. This time you can choose which cities to race from. I wasn't up for racing all those races again with different cars, so I went after other achievements.

Multiplayer was my next thing. I played about 8 races to complete 20 multiplayer events and complete an online road trip for achievements. People online are kind of annoying as they try and nudge you off the road at every opportunity. I didn't do so bad though, and came in 2nd overall in my first 4 race championship run.

Then I tackled winning 15 bucket list events. These are short challenges placesd all over the map. They vary from skill challenges, to racing, to speed goals. They really made me frustrated, and I likened it to platform game challenges - do it over and over until you win. I would do them about 3 times before I went to another one. Eventually I got 15 won.

Then I went around beating friend's speed trap times for an achievement. Finally I rounded up the few destructable signs that had appeared and tried one you have to jump for, to no avail. I did a few more bucket list challenges, gathered more photos of unique cars, and did another race before I decided to give it a rest.

This is the last Original Xbox themed vehicle I did before I got tired of doing that on every car and just used other people's designs.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Just like the first one so far except you can call in friends or randoms online (if you have PS+) for big battles, which is kind of neat - except that I don't have PS+. The game just makes me want a normal DQ game though. The real time battles are neat, but kind of hectic. When I stopped, I had just added a ranged attack character (the one with Ruff whose name I forget). I was interested in using her so I could take a step back from the crazy melee, but, I had to stop for the night.

And that's a day. I played a few hours of Culdcept Revolt the other day, but I guess I'll save that for another blog.

Did you ever play DQ Builders?  I can't remember if you did or not.  You might like that one.  My brother Jeff was really into Minecraft and he LOVED DQ Builders as well.  They're making a sequel to that, too!

Yea, I played Builders and got stuck in it. I don't know what I did, but I couldn't build my city right and level up at one point. I couldn't figure it out. I really liked it though, so I'll be all over the sequel when it comes out.

Even though I'm not a minecraft fan, I'm kind of interested in DragonQuest Builders myself.

DQB has a little more focused objectives.
