Toy Time: Holiday SuperChargers

Skylanders has always done a few holiday, or season, themed variant characters. I think they are some of the best ones too. In retrospec, I should've started my collecting with just the holiday/seasonal ones. I would've spent less money and had a nice manageable collection to play the games with. As it stands now, I have bags and bags of these things. Ah well, lessons we learn. . .

Here are the holiday/seasonal variants I have for Skylanders SuperChargers.

Eggcited Thrillipede and Missile-Tow Dive-Clops

I couldn't find the regular Thrillipede, so I settled for its Easter variant Eggcited Thrillipede. The difference is mainly cosmetic from what I can gather. I like it though.

I had to have the Xmas variant of Dive-Clops. That's just a cool look.

I don't have Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz even though I saw lots of them on the store shelves. I was getting near the end of my collecting and trying to spend as little as possible. I already had Big Bubble Pop Fizz, so I resisted. I kind of want one now.

Frightful Fiesta, the Halloween variant of Fiesta, is another one I don't have. I saw one right at the beginning of my collecting but it was new and I didn't want to spend $15 for it. I want it now though.

Spring Ahead Dive Bomber was the spring variant of Dive Bomber. I saw these around too but never got one.

I have seen some of the holiday ones and gotten press releases about them. They are tempting to get, but I never got one. Good thing amiibo figures don't have holiday varieties or I'd be in trouble!

I thought I was being conservative by sticking to only the core characters. That was not the measured way to approach it. Thing is, I wanted to see what every major character did in the game. Is that so wrong?

You know what would have been fun is with these special variants they had a special holiday power. That Halloween Fiesta character is really cool. It looks like it has the Dia De Los Muertos skull paint

I double checked but it seems the differences are just cosmetic. It would be really cool if they had at least one special ability tied to the variant. I mean, legendaries get a stat boost. Like Eggcited Thrillipede should throw eggs that release chicks that attack enemies or something like that.

Right? It would be nice to have another reason to buy the variants other than for one's collection.
