I got to chasing achievements again in Minecraft, this time in the Bedrock Edition recently added to Xbox One.
I got a lot of easy achievements in this version but then I got hung up on the Rainbow Collection one. This tasks you with what I thought was dying 16 pieces of wool every color possible, but it was really just collecting all 16 in whatever way you could in a chest. Thinking I had to dye them all, I collected dyes first and ran all over the map and three other maps trying to find cactus in a desert biome and cocoa in a jungle biome. I never found the jungle but Mark found a brown sheep and gave me that last color I needed.
Well, it took a bunch of time but I learned the new mechanics for map making. Apparently you have to add more paper to zoom out farther. This was standard proceedure on the PC version, but I never had to do it until now on the Xbox version. The game tells you nothing of how to do anything, so I had to look it up. At least I got some new ideas about how to get the Map Room achievement much quicker than I did last time I got it on the old version of the game.
