Knocked 3 More Down in Minecraft

Three more achievements aquired. I was well satisfied with myself that I got the two I set out to do and another one in the bargain.

Return to Sender. This tasks you with knocking a Ghast's fireball back at it to destroy it. At first I used the old method of swinging some cobblestone, but it wasn't working. Then Mark reminded me about arrows and I used those instead. I had an enchanted bow I got off a skeleton and it was causing some problems. It would pass right through the fireball and kill the Ghast before the fireball could get there. Eventually I found a Ghast at the right distance and got it to work.

Taste of Your Own Medicine.  This one asks you to throw a witch's potion of poison back at her. This took a while because I had to find the Fortress in the Nether to harvest some blaze rod to make the brewing stand so I could make the poison potions. I searched and searched and almost gave up when Mark offered to join in the search. He found it in an amazing minute and a half. I have no idea how. Once the Fortress was found it was just a matter of fighting our way in, gather the Nether Wort, fighting Blazes for at least two Blaze Rod and getting the heck out of there. I, by some miracle, harvested a Wither Skull along the way. Those things are rare as heck. Well, back at the base, I brewed the poison potions, found a witch, and let her have it. Done.

When Pigs Fly. This one has you saddle a pig and ride it off a ledge. The pig will get hurt but you won't. To do this you need a saddle which is a rare find. Luckily Mark found one in a chest in the Fortress earlier. Then you need carrots to attach to a fishing rod. Why? This is what you use to steer the pig once you are ridding it. Carrots grow in gardens in villages. In the seed I was playing, I hadn't found a village. So I ventured around the world until I found one, got the carrots and made the fishing rod. I rode the pig off a not too high ledge and then so did Mark. Done.

All these achievements I've gotten before on the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, but they're fun to do again. Next up will be some achievements that take even more preparation and planning. I like that these will make me think of new strategies to get them done.

He gets hurt just a little bit. I made sure I didn't fall too high. Um, but then I rode him through some, what I thought, was shallow water, and. . . he drowned. . . I got the saddle back though!

I tried going vegetarian in this game, but it's very difficult that way. They want you to harvest everything you come across, it seems.

The pig with the saddle achievement is funny. So when the pig gets hurt can you heal them or do they get healthy on their own?

They heal up on their own, I think. Maybe you can cure them by feeding them though. I do that with my dogs all the time. The lower their tail, the lower their health. I feed them rotten meat and they perk right up. I forget if I tried that on a horse. I'm guessing it would work the same for them with their favorite food, wheat.
