Wore Out. No More Minecraft.

A long session in Minecraft today ended in a lot of frustration and exhaustion. Yes, I did several more achievements, but the effort was more than I wanted. I think I'm done with the game for a while.

Mainly the issue is mob griefing, which, I know, is part of the game, but it really should be dialed back just a little bit. Mobs now can survive daylight pretty well and so night and day aren't so different anymore. Both are still dangerous. Case in point, at a key moment I ran into the building Mark and I were using as a base in the middle of the day and left the door open for just a few moments. I turned around to see a creeper walk right in and explode, killing Mark and most of our chests full of hard won matterials. Most of it survived but some key items didn't. I really wish the mobs would be toned back during the day. Endermen are out there, creepers and armor clad skeletons at all hours. It used to be that daybreak brought a sense of relief as mobs burned up and Endermen teleported underground, but now they are active all the time. You can't get anything done. I don't like it. I can't tell you how many times I went out into the world during the day for a routine visit to another town, or to get wool from sheep, only to find myself hunted by a Enderman and killed. Such BS!

Well, I'm exhausted by the game now. Mark and I took out some frustration by playing creative mode for a little bit. We did some silly stuff like leashing a dozen animals at once and flying them up into the stratosphere like Santa and his sleigh drawn by reindeer. I experimented with hoppers and Mark blew stuff up. I blew stuff up too for a bit.

This Minecraft world is absolutely enormous now on console. When you fly up very high you can see the curve of the planet beneath you. It's truely a world.

Well, I'm done with it for now. I may go back to Horizon Zero Dawn next week.

Yeah those mobs sound annoying and would drive me nuts. You guys put in A LOT of time into this game and you'll be back.

I think we had the game set to normal difficulty. Easy is where we usually play. It got really annoying. I like a challenge but over time it's so easy to let your guard down and those mobs never rest.
