I am now digging into my Disney Infinity figures. I'm starting with the first game, the first wave of characters, and then by each major movie franchise. The first Disney Infinity featured six main movie tie-ins that had their own areas in the game and then one or two characters from other films just for fun. This first picture is of the Pirates of the Caribbean characters I have.

I thought the Pirates of the Caribbean areas of the game were some of the best of the series. The story told about it is that the developers were making it as a stand alone game when the Disney Infinity idea was thrown upon them. It shows because it was a lot of fun exploring islands and fighting at sea in ships.

At some point, I'm going to go back to Disney Infinity on Xbox and finish up the few achievements I didn't get.

Disney Infinity didn't compel me to collect any figures or buy any of the sequels.  It wasn't a bad game, but just not good enough for me to stay into it.

I was just curious when it first came out but once that sale at Gamestop started on figures in 2015, I couldn't resist. I found them decent games. I've played through all of them and I want to play them again so I can try out some of the new characters I've gotten.

I always liked the character styles for Disney Infinity. No matter what franchise the characters came from, they all looked like they were from the same universe. It's a shame that the game wouldn't let the user use different characters within the story mode.

Yea, they look really good. I forgot about that limitation. I guess they got to push you to buy more characters somehow. I do wish I could play as Donald Duck in every world though. Donald Duck in the Star Wars universe would be about as close as I will get to playing as Duck Dodgers.

Duck Dodgers is Daffy Duck, not Donald.  There have been some Duck Dodgers games in the past.  One was on the SNES, and I hear there was one on N64 though I've never seen it.

Oh yea, I keep making that mistake. I still like Donald.

If the game didn't have that limitation I think the series would have lasted longer, but Lego had this option and they only lasted for two series.

I guess they had to give you incentive to buy a new character to play a particular playset. Toy Box was fun but not as interesting as the playsets.
