Pinball and Forza Horizon 3

I ran through my '79 pinball games on Pinball Arcade today and then played Forza Horizon 3 the rest of the time.

Paragon. Still don't like this table much. I'm not very good at it either. Looks fantastic though on Pinball Arcade on XBO.

Genie. I like this table much better but noticed it has just as few sounds as Paragon. I put up a new high score on the local leaderboard. I think "local" means just on my console, and the high scores already there are set by the developers. They aren't very high scores unlike the online leaderboards which are crazy. So I'm thinking I can get the achievements associated with the local leaderboards. I just have to get in the top five across a bunch of tables and then try and get the number one score. Reachable goals, I think.

Gorgar. I really like this table. It's fast and has a snake you can shoot the ball into when it's lit. It has good sounds too, I think a deep electronic voice saying "gorgar".

Forza Horizon 3. Played so much of this and couldn't pull myself away. Race after race after challenge after challenge. So much to do. I was steadily making progress on multiple achievements along the way. I so love just driving around the enormous Australian outback and coasts. I would set a distant goal on the map and then hit every new event along the way as well as getting into one-on-one races with drivatars and doing drift and speed challenges. I finally unlocked the ability to take photos of cars. There are over 500 cars to take pictures of. You get credits for doing it. You can just wait to shoot at the beginning of a race when you can knock off a dozen cars at once, but I tend to shoot anything that has the photo icon above it anywhere I find them.

I ordered Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 from Jay Street today. I hope it's the first one and not volume 2. I forgot to make sure, but I'll be able to return it if it's wrong. I have a lot of the old school game collections. I don't have Rare Replay anymore but I don't need it just yet because the oldest game on there is 1983, and I won't cover that year until May. I'm going to look for a deal on that one.

That's a day. Maybe more tomorrow but I'm already starting to get nervous about my classes starting next week, and how I should work on my Linkedin page. I'll get on that soon.

Those score-boards are pretty wild. They really tried to make 'em sexy. Frazetta-like in a way. Or like fantasy novel covers from the same period.

I just looked at a glossery of pinball terms. Wow they make me laugh. I'm going to try and use them next time I write about them.

Ha, I look forward to it. Never considered the words for pinball stuff.

I love all the words for facial hair styles too. I saw those in the character creator for Saints Row IV.
