While Waiting for Install

Wolfenstein II took all day to install but mostly because I kept pausing it so I could play Minecraft with Mark. Minecraft online gets really laggy if you are installing a game at the same time on Xbox One. So it never did complete, but it will be done tomorrow. Here's the other stuff I did instead.

Minecraft: Just spent a lot of time trying to find the Stronghold in Survival Mode. I found one and it was tiny and had no End Portal. Then I found another but it was at the bottom of an ocean. I got the water breathing potions ready but I needed one more Eye of Endor to precisely locate it. I couldn't find another Enderman in either the Nether nor Overworld. I got annoyed and stopped. Sometimes the random elements of this game drive me nuts.

Babylon 5: Mark showed me seaon 2, episode 3 becuase it featured character Susan Ivanova. We're going to me the actor, Claudia Christian, at RetroCon in a few weeks.

Inside Xbox: I watched this live. They announced new orginal Xbox games for backwards compatibility. Some titles that made my eyes bug out were: Morrowind, Destroy All Humans and KotOR II.

Massive Chalice: Played this a few hours after Inside Xbox. Battles are like XCOM. Graphics remind me of Band of Bugs, if you remember that old XBLA title by NinjaBee. I'm getting a feel for the different character types and how to upgrade my kingdom to boost my soldiers' abilities. The game seems to takes place over 300 years. You fast forward the clock whenever you are done with a battle, or building or research project. Events pop up from time to time to test your ability to choose correctly and avoid regions from being corrupted. Enemies have different behaviors and abilities that require strategic thinking. I'm enjoying it. Oh, and you appoint region leaders and marry them. Then babies are born and they eventually enter your ranks as soldiers. I imagine you can marry the right people to each other to produce the offspring with the right mix of abilities, but I haven't gotten that deep into that part of the game yet.

That's a day.

I still have my Halo Edition Xbox. That thing is heavy. I call it a cinder block. Not very fun to carry around.

The time element is something unique, I think.
