Yep, we finally did it, we killed the Ender Dragon in Minecraft for, I think, at least the third time. One for the Xbox 360 version, one for the first Xbox One Version and now for the new and improved Xbox One version. It was definitely harder in this last version, and we both died a few times doing it, but we finally did it, and more.
More being going to the End City and End Ship and raiding the place. After that I was down to two achievements remaining. One was for flying with the Elytra wings very fast through a small opening and the other for respawning the Ender Dragon. That last one took longer than I thought because I found it difficult to find and hunt Ghasts to get Ghast Tears as the vital ingredient in the devices that respawn the Ender Dragon. But we did it, and I got every last achievement in the game.
This was all in Mark's seed world, and so he was helping too. He needed these achievements as well. He had three left after everything, and so we completed one of them. It was for getting that resurrection cross thingy from the Forest Mansion and using it. Mark had to grab an old map from the previous verison of the game and import it so we wouldn't have to hunt for the Mansion for hours.
Now he's got two left. One is for getting a map from a cartographer and then finding either the Sunken City or the Forest Mansion. The other is for eating a Notch Apple, which has been removed from the latest version of the game, apparently because people playing multiplayer have used it to make themselves invincible. It regenerates health very fast for a set amount of time. So, the trick is to make the Notch Apple in the previous version of the game and then import the world. We're just hoping the Notch Apple remains in his inventory when he opens the seed in the new version of the game. I think they just removed the recipe and not the object. I hope.
So that's the last few days. Here's some pictures. The link to Onedrive from Xbox One finally started working for me again.
I captured a lot of horses and used them to get around. I love horseback riding in games.
My corner of the basecamp. Those are sponges on the wall, Nether Wort growing at the foot of the bed and Sea Pickles by the bedside. Later, I had a dog sitting there and put the Pickles in water so they would create light. Oh, and I carpeted everything, just for fun, and put up colored blocks of wool. You could say this is my Minecraft Wooly World.
This is Mark's character. I thought it was funny looking. He's got the Master Chief skin with diamond pants and is wearing the Elytra wings. Just absurd.
This is a hundred blocks high just before Mark jumped and flew through the ring for the flying achievement.
Also, I downloaded Forza Horizon 4 and the demo for Valkyria Chronicles 4. I'm waiting till next week on Forza because Mark's going to get it then, and it wouldn't be fair to get such a head start on him. I watched the first cut scene of VC4 but didn't have time to play it. I can't wait. Finally, I played about an hour of Bomber Crew while Mark was busy with non gaming stuff. I love Bomber Crew so much. I'm going to buy it the moment it leaves Game Pass. It's the only way to get the DLC.
Oh, and we watched the first episode of that SciFi TV show Defiance. What a terrible show. I like the idea of it, but I felt the story was very predictable and uninteresting.
So far it's more of the same from FH3. Some differences here and there plus the amazing visuals. But basically the same drive around, enter races and hunt for bonus boards to destroy. I think there's more stuff going on around you in the world too. In one race a VTOL jet took off from the street in front of me and in another I had to race a giant hovercraft. It almost crushed me along the way.
