I started this up today. I chose a female character whose name I forget, just call her, The Fiery Angel of Doom.
I used a super-punch I unlocked after my melee skills leveled up. You hold down “b” and she does a rush forward and “WHAM”. I’m using it on everything about my size. I have a grenade launcher for large enemies and destructible objects and a homing rocket launcher for the drones.
The gameplay is largely the same as Crackdown 1. It has very smooth mechanics: jumping, climbing, shooting, and running are effortless and fun. Driving is unfortunately not very good. There seems to be only a handful of vehicles to acquire so far. I’m disappointed with that. I loved collecting cars in Crackdown 1. The graphics are a little better and the explosions are bigger, but really it’s not a whole lot different from the first game.
Despite it being basically a reboot of Crackdown 1 with modern spit and polish, I’m loving it and so is my friend Mark. We’ll be challenging each other to new heights of mayhem in this game for weeks to come.
