Zaccaria Pinball

I came across this looking through new releases on Xbox a month or so ago. I didn't know about this pinball maker, Zaccaria, at all. Well, it was a free download and comes with a free pinball game. So why not?

The only table I really know of theirs from my arcade days is Space Shuttle (1980). It's a classic.

The tables are accurate to the real machines like ones in the Pinball Arcade and Stern apps. What's extra cool about this Zaccaria app is that it has a quest. You have to pay to unlock it (it was $2 or $3), but it was worth it because you can play all the tables through the missions, and there are a lot of them. You basically have objectives to get on each table. You do three or four of them to unlock the next round. It's a long quest, and I didn't finish it last time I played it. You win coins too that enable you to buy upgrades to your tables, like bigger flippers or more balls.

They did a similar thing with championship mode in FarSight Studio's Williams and Gottleib Pinball Hall of Fame Collections from last gen consoles. I really like jumping around from table to table.

The tables play just as well as in FarSight Studio's Pinball Arcade and look great too. You can adjust your viewing angle as well, which is key.

So yet another pinball app for my Xbox. I think I have four now: Pinball Arcade, Stern Arcade, Pinball FX3 and Zaccaria Pinball. That's a whole lot of pinball.

I've never really gotten into pinball games, not the real ones or the ones on consoles and stuff. I have a respect for them, but I always sucked at them.

Pinball is difficult. I can't stay on a machine for very long, that's why I like these multi-table challenges. You only have to get one objective per table.

I only have PInball FX becasue I get free review codes of tables to review.  I'd like to try the others, but the prices would add up after a while, plus I don't have time to play ALL of those.

What's your favorite real life pinball table?  Mine's Cirqus Voltaire.

I've gotten very overwelmed by Pinball FX3. I started doing the online tournaments and occasionally buying tables to play in them. I can't keep up anymore.

My favorite is Seawitch by Stern.

That sounds like fun, having missions involving playing the tables and upgrading. Heck that sounds like a lot more fun than just playing the tables straight up, and for a couple of bucks seems like a good deal.

Yea, I jumped on it right away, and it was fun. I've got to get back to it and see if I can finish it.

The quest mode sounds interesting. Do they tack on any sort of story to it?

It's weird how much I'll put up with when there's even a hint of a story attached to it. I actually liked the fighting in DOA 6 more than the fighting in Soul Calibur VI, but the latter had a story mode built in, so I way preferred it.

There's really only just progression as if there were a story. Even a suggestion of a story is enough to get my interest.

I've always looked at fighting games to see if there is a story mode. I wanted to play Injustice and the newer Mortal Kombat games 'cause I heard there is a story mode in each of them.

Those are actually known for their story, so I think you'd like that part. SCVI doesn't have as many fancy cutscenes as those, but I dig the fantasy-based story in the Mission and Story modes. And it does have cutscenes and voice acting, just not as many as MK or Injustice.

I'll have to check out Soul Calibur as well. Last ones I played were on Dreamcast and original Xbox.
