These fly under the radar but I think they're pretty popular.
EDF 2025 vs. EDF 4.1

So these, I remembered, were the same game except 4.1 was remastered and given a few kaiju for the PS4. But in playing 4.1 again, I realized there are a lot of differences and I am quite pleased with it. It's definitely the best version.
So, I've been playing 2025 rather obsessively of late on Xbox One. I'm trying to get all four characters to beat the game on Normal difficulty, all at once. I do ten levels with each character and then take a break.
Well, I discovered EDF 4.1, the remastered version of 2025, on a sale on PS4 and bought it. I used to own the disc, but what happened is anybody's guess. Games just run off on me. So I picked up where I left off with my Ranger on about level 30 or so. I wanted him to catch up to my characters on 2025 at level 60. I did that and had a good oportunity to compare directly between the two versions.
4.1 is a vast improvement to 2025. There are more enemies, more drops, less annoyingly deadly spider webing, more effective fellow troops and more of them, and levels that have been changed drastically for the better - and also kaiju and a giant mech just like Pacific Rim. Oh yeah, and it looks a bit better too. Oh yeah again, there is darkness in the underground levels with only your flashlight and weapon effects to see with. The Wing Diver electrical attacks look especially cool in the dark tunnels.
So I am really diggin the PS4 version of this game. If only I could get Iron Rain and EDF 5 too, but I'll wait for a better sale.
I'm continuing with 2025 as well, though. I want Normal difficulty achievements for all characters at the very least. I've picked up other achievements for kills along the way that I never got years ago too.
Well, that's enough EDF rambling. I'm about to get sleepy.
