Solitaire: Ring of Together

It could be another solitaire variant but it's actually the collective title of the four games I played today.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection

I managed to get the 5 daily challenges one day and all the event challenges another day. It's fun to play here and there, but it is steadily becoming a bit adictive, which is no surprise because it's designed to do just that, I've noticed. The idea of leveling up, earning gold to build up to a weekly bonus, and the consistent positive feedback with fireworks displays and cheers when you win, is hard to resist on a deep, almost unconscious level. We all want immediate rewards for things and most things in life don't give you that. You have to delay your reward to sometime in the future. So, I am aware of how this game, and others, are influencing me. I just need to keep aware of my time spent.

Eternal Ring

This is a From Software PS2 RPG from 2000. It's first-person and feels a lot like an Elder Scrolls game. I played for a while but got stuck. I was supposed to take a requisition order to a guy in a warehouse to get a weapon (why I had to turn in the sword I had and get another is a mystery to me). I went into every building, talked to every NPC I met and none of them were responsible for weapons. I couldn't figure it out. It seemed an unfair trick to play on the player, so I stopped.

Gears of War 5

Lots of rewards tied to playing Gears 5 on Xbox this week. I dove in and made more progress on the main campaign which I haven't finished. I limited myself to 90 minutes, though, so I could tend to my Farm.

Farm Together

Tiramisu

I finally made my Tiramisu. It was the last and most difficult of the food you can make. I also created another farm hand to tend a field of trees. I now want one to tend my animals. I'm curious what the farm hand would do with the animals in addition to harvesting them, if anything. It would be handy if they would fill up my feeders for me. I find myself runing around filing them up a little too frequently now that I have so many animals.

Well, I work on Saturday this week, so Sunday will be my next game day. I'm excited to try out Grandia II on PS2 before everything else.

I've always wanted to play Grandia 2, and I never finished the first one, which I really liked. Might get the remasters on Switch at some point.

I've played II a little bit a long time ago. I was really into it but something distracted me from it. I'm hoping it hooks me for the rest of the month.

I need to go the next step and start making one of them.
