Addicted to Animal Crossing

Sorry I've been gone for so long. Having a ball with the Switch. Mostly Animal Crack Crossing, but I have picked up a few more games. Spirit of the North, Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II, Dragon Quest III, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Animal Crossing: I am such an AC addict. I've only had my Switch for two weeks and I've already logged 85 hours. I've visited one friend, had another come visit me, and visited someone via their Dream Address. I've created a design and uploaded it, and I've been happily filling my museum with everything I can. I'm loving all the new stuff in this edition, but I do miss being able to see what floor and wall designs look like before I buy them. I also wish I could swim faster. Both very minor quibbles and neither affects my enjoyment of the game. Not having your flowers die if you don't water them more than makes up for both of those things.

Spirit of the North: I love foxes and folklore/mythology. This one was a no brainer for me to buy. I've liked what I've played so far, even if objectives and where to go can be very vague at times. It's very pretty, too.

Dragon Quests I-III: Anyone who has been reading my blog for more than a few months - were there any doubts I'd buy these? I discovered that they are the GBC versions when I couldn't find my way out of a dungeon when my health was getting low and none of the online maps were matching up. No problem, now that I know what to look for when I get stuck. I've only been playing DQ I, I'll play the others when I've finished.

LoZ: Breath of the Wild: Picked this up last evening while I was waiting for my mom to finish up at her appointment. Booted it up long enough to get to the first tower. I think I'm really going to love this one when I settle down to play it.

If anyone wants to add me, my friend code is 6750-1629-5891.

Spirit of the North sounds like that game you and me played on PS4 a long time ago called Never Alone. Any similarities beyond snow and foxes?

One of the foxes is a spirit fox. It's got a serious Nordic vibe, set in Iceland.

I'd play Spirit of the North, if I ever get out of Farm Together. I suppose at some stage I'll use the achievements list to guide me and then an end will be in sight unless, after getting them all, I start all over again for fun. Could happen.

You're hooked on that game, aren't you? Well, I'm one to talk, considering I've only had my Switch for a little over two weeks and I've already logged over 85 hours on Animal Crossing.

I'm going to see if there is an hours spent stat in Farm Together, but I'm afraid to look.

I've played a lot of AC, but I got sidetracked by Pokemon Sword and Xenoblade. Will come back to AC though just so I can visit islands and hopefully some of y'all can visit mine. And I have the entire Dragon Quest trilogy. I actually found the GBC version of the III for Game Boy, but I'm thrilled to be able to play it on my TV without a Game Boy Player that I no longer have. :(

Breath of the Wild, however, is by far the best game on the Switch.

Yes, Andrew, you do need to get back to AC, lol.

I will probably end up not really doing much more with Breath of the Wild until things slow down in my life a little bit.

I think I reviewed Spirit of the North a long time ago when it was on the Wii U.  Is that the one about Alaskan folklore?

We'll have to plan on visiting each other's AC towns sometime.  It may take a bit of pre-planning since I imagine we are both busy with work right now.  I'd love to help you out in that game in any way I can.  That's what I like about Animal Crossing is that you can 'help' people without lifiting a finger. :)

You reviewed Never Alone. Spirit of the North is set in Iceland.

Thanks for hosting me on your island the other night and for all the great presents in the mail today. You'll have to come visit me on Fish-hawk sometime soon. It's not nearly as snazzy as Pac-land, but it will get there eventually.

Yeah I'll definitely visit.  Like before, it'll take a bit of pre-planning, but we'll do it.  Get used to getting presents in the mail in the meantime, though.

I keep hoping they'll release the DS versions of DQ 4,5,6 on Switch but I'm not sure how they'll accomplish that. You can get them on mobile though. I enjoyed playing DQ7 on my 3DS but I never finished it. I would buy that again too.

Zelda is great. I haven't finished it though. But it was just so fun just to explore and discover things. Eventually (after DQ11 I hope) I'd like to get back to it.

I have all the games on their original consoles, and the consoles to play them on. Personally, I prefer my games on a larger screen, I had a hard time with DQ VIII on the 3DS because it was so small.
